That captain was reckless and among the first off the ship

I watched this too last week. It just popped up so I said yeah. It was pretty good.

Trying to decide what podcasts to listen to while driving from LA to Eugene in July. Any recommendations?

rogueJimC @roguejimc.bsky.social · 26/05/2026

Ok. I admit it. I avoided this for a long time. Then I watched. Binged it. Total first cabin romp on Apple. Two thumbs way up. “Margo’s Got Money Troubles”

I used to save up your podcasts for a week for a summer drive from LA to Oregon. As I approached the Grapevine I’d turn on your podcasts and listen all the way to Oregon. Now your podcasts are 15-25 mins long and basically cover your columns. What am I supposed to do this summer on my Oregon drive?👍

As a graduate of Oregon, I am simply appalled that news of a vote of “no confidence” passed overwhelmingly, yet voter turnout was so microscopic, it could not possibly claim to represent the the opinion of the majority. Like taking a poll on prohibition in a liquor store.

000

rogueJimC @roguejimc.bsky.social · 24/04/2026

This just baffled me: “Measure passes with broad support among voters, though turnout was about 6.5%.” 6.5%? Sounds like the majority of students simply don’t care about issues that don’t concern them. Ergo, there is no quorum so no urgency.

I did not know Ohio State Tennis was coached by Ryan Day

I don’t remember riots in the early 2000’s. I remember anti-war riots/protests of the late 60’s but I was a kid then

But can they pressure the QB?

000

rogueJimC @roguejimc.bsky.social · 13/03/2026

Doubt it. DIRECTV is bigger, they tried and lost. I like the traditional ESPN channels—especially for football. But I don’t care to watch Western New Hampshire play Kalamazoo St in junior varsity darts.

101

rogueJimC @roguejimc.bsky.social · 13/03/2026

ABC/ESPN/Disney pulled their programming from DIRECTV when DTV refused to pay what they wanted. After 2-3 weeks, DIRECTV caved & the programming came back (with all the ESPN+ channels). The next month my price went up $20/mo. Called DIRECTV and they confirmed this was the cause.

Just be glad you don’t live in California. Gas prices suck here.

Did Oregonian/oregonlive beat reporter James Crepea get hacked on X? (Serious question) Is he gone from the Ducks beat?

000

rogueJimC @roguejimc.bsky.social · 16/02/2026

Resigned up on “X” after a hiatus of more than 2 years. Weird starting all over…um over there. All the old usuals are still there.

Is the daily “Bald Faced Truth” podcast as we know it done with? I miss it. And your 3-4 times per week short podcasts don’t cut it on my daily workouts. Too short.

However I did go to a well attended little concert at the EMU by the Eusted Brothers in 1981.

000

rogueJimC @roguejimc.bsky.social · 05/02/2026

No I did not, nor did I ever compete against anyone in hacky sack at any time. And yes I was there in 1981.

I hope the Seahawks flounder, get sold to a buyer in Texas, and moved to El Paso.

www.oregonlive.com/ducks/2026/0... Fentress. You’re giving Oregon’s returning and incoming WR’s a B+ grade? Please name 3-4 teams with a better crop. I can only think of maybe 1. A journeyman QB could fillet just about any DB with this group.

Oregon Ducks ’26 roster preview: Abundance of WR/TE targets available for QB Dante Moore

Oregon lost three key players, but should be well set with passing targets for quarterback Dante Moore.

I did not watch it. However about 5-6 years ago, @uoduckgirl did post a video on Twitter of her visit to Hiron’s.

Oh how I hate the Seahawks. They have been the bane of my fall weekends ever since I was a little kid. I wish them nothing but misery.

rogueJimC @roguejimc.bsky.social · 25/01/2026

Never been to Hiron’s. Don’t even remember it being there when I was a student. Maybe I’ll go there when I visit my sister in August.

Tough loss for the Broncos. Gotta believe Nix would’ve had the knack to beat the Pats. But Gonzo is going to the Super Bowl

Two questions. Mario Cristobal, Ryan Day, Dan Lanning, Lincoln Riley and Lane Kiffin are all contestants on Survivor. Who outwits, outplays & outlasts? How long does Lane Kiffin hold out before playing his hidden immunity idol?

000

rogueJimC @roguejimc.bsky.social · 25/01/2026

I think he does. I know Bittle & Shelstad are out, but fans sit politely on their butts and nobody seems to care.

Wow! Fiso behind the back assist. Silky smooth.

000

rogueJimC @roguejimc.bsky.social · 24/01/2026

This Katie Fiso is amazing to watch. A smooth and seemingly effortless ball handler, if she has a fan club, I’m in it. Would love to watch her play in person. I think this is a Rob Moseley photo.

Huskies. Worse yet, you’d probably have Softy on the Bald Faced Truth the next day. I can’t think of anything more unbearable.

If not for the $’s generated by football, the athletic dept. would be in the red. It would help if basketball fans would fill MKA as roudy and rabidly as they filled The Pit. Or, as they now do at Autzen. There is a profit thanks to football, & I highly doubt they sit giving the finger to others.

020

rogueJimC @roguejimc.bsky.social · 21/01/2026

Oregon is also without stars Shelstad & Bittle. Lucky to win any game.
