The Day Hell Grew Teeth Medieval Hell was not content to remain invisible. It grew teeth. Across cathedral portals, illuminated manuscripts, Apocalypse cycles, deathbed manuals, and visions of the Last Judgment, medieval artists gave damnation a body. Hell became a monster with an open mouth.
