I am still struggling lately but I had to draw these four goobers, I loved the #gameoverse pilot so much.

Everytime I see a clip of Erika Kirk this week in her all black getup trying to stare down the camera, I think of this bit from Brooklyn 99

Been in my head too much lately so I decided to fall back on my old go to: drawing caricatures of my favorite YouTubers. Today, I chose @deadmeatjames.bsky.social @lowcarbcomedy.bsky.social and @carebecc.bsky.social from Dead Meat. Love me some Kill Counts.

After a few years off, I am relaunching my comic. I’ve updated a few things but it’ll still be the same goobers fighting ghosts, ghouls, goblins and gods. Here’s the cover for the first arc: Orientation Daze! I might make a few light tweaks before the comic goes live but I think it’s pretty good!

I just saw an ad for Dunkin Donuts starring Megan Thee Stallion with dark red hair wearing a 80’s style aerobics leotard and I’m just sitting here wondering how an ad could have been any more targeted at me.

A thumbnail for the cover for the first arc. I’m pretty happy with it but what do you guys think?

I’ve been working on my style between writing chapters. Still need to get my feet less wonky but I like everything else.

So there is a website, novembersixthnineteeneightyseven.com, that people say is counting down to the secret ninth episode of Season Five of Stranger Things. That was registered today (1/5/2026). Yeah, gonna bet this is fake.

I’ve been busy with a lot of things likely but I’m still working on the comic. Working through the final script and layouts for the reintroduction and I’m working out designs. Here are some for characters/costumes for what I have written so far.

Did another. Gael isn’t getting much of a change as she’s always been several centuries older than David and Celeste (although developmentally the same). This was mostly just a reexamination and exploration to make sure the first wasn’t a fluke.

111

Rogzilla @rogerbrunke.com · 16/09/2025

Whoops, accidentally explored some concepts visually. Note that the top right is not a final design, more just a vibe.

Still getting some cobwebs shaken off but I’m starting to get serious again. Here are some sketches of the first named characters from the reworked Vigil. In the first chapter, Celeste and Violet are moving into their dorm room with the help of their parents.

Portraits and full body shots of various characters appearing in the comic. Marcus Smith, Ashley Smith, Violet Smith, Dr Kara Brody and Celeste Brody.

I’ve heard of dump truck asses but Devastator is taking that literally. Daaaaamn!

A picture of the back of the Studio Series 86 Devastator prototype. It shows that the figure Long Haul, who can transform into a dump truck, forms the hips while a fair amount of mass sticks off the back, forming the combined form’s butt.

Finalizing for now with the High Priest of the Black Arms: Black Doom! Might be the biggest overhaul of design but this was the culmination of all the design ideas that I had done before. #art #fanart #sonicart #SonicTheHedgehog #ShadowtheHedgehog #BlackDoom #BlackArms

Fan art and redesign of the character Black Doom from Shadow the Hedgehog game. The biggest change might be that he is now related to the Ancients/Chaos/Chao and, on a previous visit to Earth, came into conflict with the Great Horned Owls. Although they were able to drive him off, he devastated their population and wears the skull of one of their greatest warriors. But he planted the seeds of the conflict with the Echidnas, using his powers of persuasion to corrupt Chief Pachacamac and, when Perfect Chaos destroyed both civilizations, he took a cult-like group of Echidnas with him and experiment on them for generations until they eventually became the Black Arms.

Rogzilla @rogerbrunke.com · 25/01/2025

For our penultimate character, let’s tackle Chaos 0, the God of Destruction! For my take here, Chaos is less a mutated Chao and more that the Chao are just baby Ancients with Chaos being adolescent. #art #fanart #sonicart #sonicthehedgehog #Chaos0 #Chao #TheAncients

Fan art of Chaos 0 from Sonic the Hedgehog. The design has been tweaked to both make him look more like an Ancient, the idea being that he is more of an adolescent Ancient rather than a mutated Chao (which are just baby Ancients). Since the Chao take on traits of animals they are exposed to, Chaos was tweaked to look more like an echidna from the Knuckles clan.

Up next: the femme fatale, jewel thief and part-time GUN agent: Rouge the Bat! This is one of my bigger redesigns but I’m pretty happy with the end results. #art #fanart #sonicart #sonicthehedgehog #Rouge #RougetheBat

A fan redesign of Rouge the Bat from the Sonic series. While the bulk of her costume is unchanged, she now has bangs, a bat like nose, fuller lips, white fur all over her body and fingerless gloves. Instead of wings on her back, she has patagium visible in her armpits and, when needed, her arms become wings. Although not pictured, she can put false wings on her back for silent gliding while on missions.

The dawn of the final day! Let’s start with Amy Rose, everyone’s favorite hammer wielding, tarot card reading, girl bossing hedgehog. #art #fanart #sonicart #sonicthehedgehog #AmyRose #RosytheRascal #Sonic4 #SonicMovie4

Fan art redesign of Amy Rose from the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise. Mostly just changes to her outfit, boots and lining her closer to my own aesthetic.

Rogzilla @rogerbrunke.com · 24/01/2025

At the end of the day, living up to Maria’s final wish is what drives Shadow. Empowered by that (and the seven Chaos Emeralds), he transformers into Super Shadow, ready to save the world from all who threaten it. #art #fanart #Sonicart #SonicTheHedgehog #SuperShadow #Sonic3 #SonicMovie3

Fan art of Shadow the Hedgehog in his super form. Inspiration was taken from the movie to give him a rose gold look. He’s also removed his Inhibitor rings.

141

Rogzilla @rogerbrunke.com · 24/01/2025

Of course, next is Maria Robotnik. Ailing but hopeful, she was the anchor for both Gerald and Shadow to keep them connected to the world. Her death as a result of GUN would haunt them both. #art #fanart #SonicArt #SonicTheHedgehog #MariaRobotnik #Sonic3 #SonicMovie3

Fan art of Maria Robotnik from the Sonic franchise. Her costume is the biggest change, wanting to look more like she’s in a hospital gown with a GUN jacket on top. But even that is mostly done to line up aesthetic.

1111

Rogzilla @rogerbrunke.com · 24/01/2025

Professor Gerald Robotnik has entered the chat! Once, a benevolent scientist working for the betterment of humanity, tragedy and loss turned him into a vengeful madman. #art #FanArt #sonicart #SonictheHedgehog #Sonic3 #SonicMovie3 #ProfessorGerald #GeraldRobotnik

Fan art of Gerald Robotnik from the Sonic franchise. Mostly unchanged, just stylistic tweaks to make him more in line with my own aesthetic.

And finishing up today with the uberhog himself, Super Sonic. Using the combined powers of the 7 Chaos Emeralds and the Rings, Sonic becomes an unstoppable force of our Chaos Energy. But he isn’t the only one to Control the Chaos *gasp* a tease! 😉 #art #fanart #SuperSonic #SonictheHedgehog #sonicart

Rounding out Team Sonic is the master treasure hunter, renowned warrior and Guardian of Angel Island, Knuckles the Echidna. #art #fanart #sonicthehedgehog #knuckles #knux #knucklestheechidna #refenesis

A redesign of knuckles the echidna from Sonic. He features more prominent nose, modified gloves, large, claw like spikes and additional white strips around his dreadlocks.

182

Rogzilla @rogerbrunke.com · 23/01/2025

Speaking of side kicks, let’s get to Sonic’s best friend, Miles “Tails” Prower. Don’t let his cute looks fool you, he’s a brilliant engineer and pilot. #art #fanart #sonicthehedgehog #sonicart #tails #milesprower #regensis

Redesign of Tails from the Sonic franchise. He is a darker orange with brown and white highlights, with goggles and tan work gloves.

182

Rogzilla @rogerbrunke.com · 23/01/2025

New day, new art! Here is Agent Colin Stone aka Snively. Originally, a scientist working for GUN’s weapons development, he eventually became liaison to E.G.G. where he began working in secret for Eggman as a lab assistant and right hand man. #art #fanart #sonicthehedgehog #agentstone #snively

A redesign of the character Snively from Sonic SATAM, brining in elements of his pre and post reboot Archie design as well as inspiration from the Agent Stone character from the Sonic movies.

1122

Rogzilla @rogerbrunke.com · 22/01/2025

Rounding out the first four is Sonic’s mentor and mother figure: Longclaw, the last of the Great Horned Owls. Little is known of their once great civilization, only that they were in conflict with the Echidnas and both were nearly wiped out in the Day of Chaos 3000 years ago.

A redesign of Longxlaw from the Sonic movies. I didn’t want to drastically change her design so I tried to just anthro it up a bit more to feel more like a Mobian. So while she doesn’t have gloves or shoes, her proportions are tweaked, her color is now much more purple and her wings end in visible hands.

151

Rogzilla @rogerbrunke.com · 22/01/2025

Every good hero needs an archvillain and for Sonic, it’s Dr. Ivo Robotnik aka Eggman. A brilliant scientist and billionaire, Eggman’s narcissistic mind eventually became consumed by desires for power and a perversion of nature. Now, he won’t stop until all things are part of the Eggman Empire.

Fan art redesign of Dr Robotnik/Eggman from the Sonic franchise. While his current game design is the primary source, his look was tweaked to include elements from his SatAM design: notably a robotic left arm and red eyes (although they are hidden behind red glasses).

1112

Rogzilla @rogerbrunke.com · 22/01/2025

Of course, Sonic wasn’t always the handsome young hedgehog you see above. He was once a precocious scamp, getting into trouble and going through boots like no one’s business. #art #fanart #SonictheHedgehog #SonicArt #ClassicSonic #BabySonic

Fan art of Sonic as a child modeled after both Classic Sonic and Baby Sonic from the movies. At this time, Sonic wore boots that weren’t really designed to hold up to his speeds, so he constantly had to tape them together until they had to be tossed. Once he became a teenager, he received a custom pair a sneakers designed to withstand his speed, allow for easier movement and even include a grinding arch.

Let’s start off with the Blue Blur himself, the Fastest Thing Alive, Sonic the Hedgehog! #art #fanart #SonictheHedgehog #SonicFanArt #Sonic
