My best mate since school days is Christopher Lillicrap. Some people haven't heard of him, others wonder whatever happened to him. Courtesy of a guitar he bought in Athens & a heart surgeon in Plymouth he's written a touching new song about ageing- and it's here! youtu.be/TOxSw_1Z2mg?...

Lauren Laverne is a superbly professional host of Desert Island Discs. A good listener & fine interlocutor. She was no less professional with Nick Cave, but there's no mistaking the fact that she was interviewing a hero this week - so infectiously enthusistic! @laurenlaverne.bsky.social #NickCave

I love it when people respond to artists like Kim and Three Idle Women that not many others are playing. I'm fortunate to receive a fair bit of new material and I have to trust my judgement about new work and hope other people like it too. I'll give your single a listen. Thanks for the link.

What a lovely comment! Thank you. This show won't end up on Mixcloud. Serenade doesn't offer a catch-up service. To get stuff on Mixcloud I have to record it off air myself and upload & I'm not able to do that this week. Thank you for being there!

This is a great read. I learnt so much about how the music industry works & the range of his collaborators is extraordinary; to cap it all there's a pleasingly accurate use of the preposition"from" on p204, so different to most plebs use of it. Buy it, read it - it's fab! @mikebatt.bsky.social
