🌱 Aaaand another maple, this time Acer japonica ‘Otomi’ showing emerging flowers & leaves. The leaves on the oldest branches can be as big as the palm of your hand. G-d it, no matter how shitty life can be, Spring will come anyway. 🌱 Go enjoy the day!

🌱 well the late snow slightly damaged some buds, but this tree breaks my heart every spring. Magnolia X soulangiana’Black Tulip’ By Monrovia Nursery, a West Coast powerhouse that introduces many amazing things. Not sure if they created it, tho.

Acer palmatum ‘Mikawa yatsubusa’, 10 yrs old. A natural dwarf, the intermodal spaces are like 1/4”. I’ve never pruned it except deadwood twigs.

Been loving Denzel since the early 80s on ‘St Elsewhere’. You could see greatness even then. And I watch the YT Equalizer snippets where he kicks ass when I’m feeling vengeful. Great stuff.

Like Gov. Ronnie Raygun did in Cali when the Black Panther Party started carrying guns to the Capitol in Sacramento. Can’t have that!

I was happy to see ‘mine’ in a picture. I had one inside that lived in my window tracks Think she made outside on her own

Thank you for identifying the cool spiders we get in the house as Bold Jumping spiders or Phidippus audax Not sure if this is reproduction or predation but I find them all over the garden, too.

Vichy Democrats, we will remember you. This is partly what happened to French collaborators after the war. And public humiliation, of course. You deserve this and more.

Gosh I sure love March snow. Especially when I’m fully budded and starting to bloom. Said no Magnolia ever. Sigh.

Timeline Cleanse 🌱 You find the most amazing stuff, outside in the garden. I just noticed where Madame Mantis laid her egg sac last fall. Mother Nature goes on one way or another. Thankfully! Tho how that bit of Sedum got there is a mystery.

I keep seeing these little warblers the last two weeks. I’ve been hoping to get a good shot of its face and chest for id. Thought I saw a flash of yellow beneath the wings on its back, a Yellow Rump Warbler? It’s very pretty

🌱 Didn’t see the flower buds on this little beauty until recently. It’s never bloomed before. It’s a clone from my wife’s grandma’s mother plant! The sun is out (for once), I just did an hour of garden cleanup, the birds are singing, and all my windows are open. Today, life is good! 🌱

Being a former Cali flatlander unwise in the ways of winter snow, I’m sitting here watching the hummers tryna feed thru increasing snow on the feeder. Hey! This cardboard works great for now! Meanwhile the snow sure is pretty (out there). lol

Hee hee! Just downloaded an old US Govt publication on easy, effective, low risk sabotage methods available to everyday people. Originally intended to slow the war machine in Europe (by the OSS) it might be useful should martial law be declared. Check weapons/methods on second page

Old leaflet saying Simple Sabotage Field Manual, Office of Strategic Services.

Anything one here read ‘The Power’? Overnight the power dynamic between women and men is flipped on its head when women develop the ability to electrocute with a touch. I just finished rereading it and whoo boy! The revenge women take worldwide was frighteningly savage. Worth the read, 8/10
