The likely next German chancellor has, in a televised remark, said that Germany must rapidly become independent of the USA due to Trump's comments. The move to disengage the EU from the USA has started. This will be a new world order, ending the order established after WWII.

This is how the US stock market reacted to Trump's press secretary confirming that on Feb 1 (US time), 25% tariffs will be applied to Mexico and Canada. Also, a 10% tariff on China. I'm unclear if that's 10% on top of existing China tariffs or the total effective tariff.

The MAGA crowd at the inauguration were just animals with no class. They booed anyone, including past Presidents, who wasn't MAGA... and Mike Pence! It was just trashy. In one sense, this has been coming for a while, and in another its a jarring collapse of US institutions.

Trump has launched 50 executive orders, including withdrawing from the Paris Climate Agreement and the WHO. He has declared that all Federal government work from home (WFH) be abolished. The flurry is to make sure that we are overwhelmed and can't focus on any one of them. The damage on day one!

Reportedly, Trump has signed an executive order to try and remove the sentence from the Constitution that defines birthright citizenship. You can't change the Constitution by executive order. Trump asserts a USA free of the Consitution. He has already broken his oath.

A Russian official pointed out that Russia sold Alaska to the USA for $7.2 million, the amount now worth about $16 billion. He said that the USA has frozen $320 billion of Russian money, so they'll take Alaska back, and the US can keep that amount of the frozen money. Trump's bullying has a cost.

Trump's threat to invade and take over the Panama Canal a surprise? Helpful to know that Trump's business was in dispute with a building owners there and were thrown out of the building by force. It was a branding and licencing deal but Trump's tream squated in the building after deal termination.

Whoa! Canada strikes back! The Premier of Ontario says they need their counter-tariffs ready to go. He says it can be as much as even cutting off energy to the USA. 60% of the oil that the USA imports is Canadian and they send 38.9 million megawatt hours of electricity to the USA per year.

Canada is pissed and rightly so. Trump called them the 51st state of the USA, and their PM as a Governor of that state. Trump has repeated the insult. Like Australia, Canada has been allied in war with the USA So when Trump demeans and insults Canada I also take offence. They voted for him.

The case for crypto is finanacial and libertarian. Using banks to transfer value costs a lot and, in business, you are constantly made to justify your spend. Know your customer is used to peel back every transaction. I've had a transfer system want to see invoices with all my customers details.

Trump says "Drill baby drill!" but the USA is getting less out of its ground from traditional means than ever and the new "tight oil" or "shale oil", is the only production growth method. Easy oil is over. Trump's sabotage of renewables is just in time to make the future a true energy crisis.
