On a scale of 1 to 10, how believable would my OC be if they were passed off as an official character? 🦑

Does anyone remember my sona? Well, I updated their design! ✨ #Art #Sona

Rodi, with light green skin and short teal hair that's slightly flicked outward at the back, stands upright with a relaxed smile. He wears a red headband tied around the forehead, a red shirt layered over a black tank top, dark shorts with rolled cuffs and a brown belt, fingerless gloves, and black-and-white sneakers.

Amy has been enjoying her strawberry shortcake a little too much. Happy belated birthday to Amy and Metal Sonic! 🎂 #Art #Sonic #SonicTheHedgehog #AmyRose #MetalSonic

Drawn in a chibi style, Amy lies on an enormous strawberry shortcake on a table. She rests one hand on her stuffed tummy and lets out a satisfied sigh. Metal Sonic stands behind the shortcake on the left, grasping it firmly as he observes Amy.

To celebrate the early release of Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds, I created a Riders outfit and an Extreme Gear board for Derya. #Art #SonicOC #DeryaTheSquid #SonicRacingCrossWorlds

Derya the Squid, standing upright wearing an asymmetrical black tube top with a thinner strap on her right shoulder and a triangular cut under the same side of her chest, a dark blue scrunchie around her back tentacles, gold sunglasses with pink lenses, light cream fingerless gloves with dark blue trim, light purple baggy pants with a coral pattern on the right leg, and dark blue sports shoes.

Next to Derya is her Extreme Gear board, the Aqua Vortex, which features a dark blue, squid-inspired design and a sleek, streamlined metal frame. Rubberized grips line both sides to provide control, and a light cream top panel with two dark blue lines that follow the board's shape. Neon green lights add a high-tech touch, and metal plates at the front and back reinforce the board's structure and durability.

These four characters arguably have a better shot than any other IDW Sonic characters because they have appeared in a non-mobile game. (10/10)

271

RodiMo @rodimo.bsky.social · 28/08/2025

And here are two more IDW Sonic characters, bringing the total from the comics to ten that could be included. (9/10)

Here are a few more IDW Sonic characters. (8/10)

150

RodiMo @rodimo.bsky.social · 28/08/2025

For those of you who were looking for it, here are some IDW Sonic characters who have the best shot at being included as racers. (7/10)

2120

RodiMo @rodimo.bsky.social · 28/08/2025

Tikal and Chaos are included because they are playable in Speed Battle and in the multiplayer mode of Sonic Adventure 2. Princess Elise and Professor Pickle are included to add more human characters as racers. (6/10)

151

RodiMo @rodimo.bsky.social · 28/08/2025

Since two of the Deadly Six were included, it's not too far-fetched to guess that the rest could be included in the game. (5/10)

150

RodiMo @rodimo.bsky.social · 28/08/2025

The same goes for the next three, except for Honey. I'm only including her because she made cameos in the IDW comics. I'm also only including Sticks if they're willing to create a modern version of her, though her Boom design is fine as is. (4/10)

170

RodiMo @rodimo.bsky.social · 28/08/2025

I'm hesitant to include these four since they're from the classic games. However, if Sonic Blitz is any indication, there's a good chance we could get modern versions of these characters. Even so, they could still appear as their classic selves. (3/10)

1101

RodiMo @rodimo.bsky.social · 28/08/2025

I've seen many people say that they want more Sonic characters in Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds, but I haven't seen many suggesting any characters to add. So, I created a thread listing all the characters that could realistically be added to the game, in no particular order. (1/10)

RodiMo @rodimo.bsky.social · 01/04/2025

After much discussion with my associates, I've made the difficult decision to align Derya's design more closely with the Sonic character design philosophy. This change ensures she fits naturally into the Sonic universe, sharing a similar body shape with over 85% of the cast. 😊

I've been planning to make some different outfits for Derya to wear, and I've just finished designing a dress for her, does she look good? 👀 #Art #SonicOC #DeryaTheSquid

Derya the Squid, standing upright with her back tentacles down to show what her dress looks like, it's a long dark blue dress with a ruffled strap on her right shoulder, a white belt around her waist, dark blue and white hair bands around each of her two front tentacles, a necklace with an orange shell, a bracelet in each hand with small dark blue and white pearls, and dark blue low heels.
