Jesus! Wait until they hear about Snæfellsjökull in Iceland!

Snæfellsjökull serves as the entrance to the subterranean journey in Jules Verne's classic science fiction novel, Journey to the Center of the Earth (1864). It is also featured in the 1960s Blind Birds trilogy by Czech SF writer Ludvik Souček, loosely inspired by Verne's work. While trying to discern whether Verne actually visited Iceland, a Czechoslovak-Icelandic science party discovers an ancient alien outpost in the cave system under Snæfellsjökull.

When I was in college I did something like this by hand in lettering class. When I saw the ship's body looked like a capital "E" a light went off in my head. Honestly, that marker sketch was probably better than this computer mock up I made. I wish I had it still.

I have had a few near death experiences in my life. Thing is I was basically unconscious before I had them so I have no memory of those exact moments. Just Drs telling me they thought they had lost me the next day, when I woke up. Because of this disconnect, I didn't consider them life changing.
