I date back to the Vietnam era, and I remember when many of "mah fellow 'Merkuns" manifested the same attitudes regarding the Vietnamese. "Sieg heil" Chauvinism has not been unique to the Germans of the WWII era. We all need to get beyond the foolishness of our fathers.

It is many bad things, but it is not actually merely stupid. Rather, it is a great many of "mah fellow 'Merkuns" who have bought into the bullbleep that was foisted off on them by the politico-economic mis"leadership" that has been stupid. (I date back to the Vietnam era. "We" have seen it before.)

Sadly there are evidently about a third or so of "us" who HAVE bought into the bullbleep. Which shows that an awful lot of "us" either aren't very bright, or that "our" politico-economic (mis)"leadership" has failed to provide for the basic needs of "We the (small) People" while playing other games.

Earlier ones were found at Guantanamo, and there have been other "black sites". And it is just such depredations that give rise to counterreactions later: e.g. Al-Qaida, Isis; Hamas/Hezbollah.
