He said that states should form treaties, breaching states should have data centres attacked militarily. He didn't advocate that "we" blow up data centres.

It's frustrating when people don't realise what a smear campaign looks like, or that certain personality types engage in them all the time.

The analysis is flawed. TESCREAL conspiracy theory encompasses effective altruists and their opponents accelerationists as well as Elon Musk and the donors who are giving to save lives under threat from the USAID cuts.

Be aware there's some misinformation on this topic. Musk's spokespeople have said he's never given a dime to EA. Thiel has donated to MIRI, a Rationalist group that's not EA, for illegible reasons. EA's most prominent critics do this (pictured) in a way that is not truthseeking

EA is part of TESCREAL. The above-mentioned donation to FLI was the basis of Torres claiming he donated. It's technically true while obscuring the greater truth which is that Musk barely donates to anyone. TESCREAL is a conspiracy theory where Torres has done this b/c Torres has an axe to grind

Musk gave 0.1% of 1 yr's worth of his charitable donations to FLI, which is tangentially/thematically similar to EA, but not part of EA. That's all. Thiel is a tricky illegible character that I cannot claim to understand. I believe Torres cannot also. Neither Thiel nor Musk are figureheads in EA

Can you substantiate this please? There is counter evidence e.g. the EA in TESCREAL is majority centre-left. Dustin Muskovitz from EA is the second largest donor to the Democratic Party. All in all it's my position that TESCREAL is a conspiracy theory

But it obscures more than it clarifies. Musk is not a thought leader or even a player in effective altruism, which is part of the acronym. He's not involved but now held up as an exemplar of it by people misinformed. He had bare minimal involvement only. EA does not guide his decisions or vice versa
