I’ve been an empty nester for exactly 3 weeks, and for my first act of self-rediscovery: last night I successfully auditioned for a community chorus that performs major choral works twice a year. I’ll be singing Beethoven’s Mass in C major in about 4 months, my friends! I’m so excited!

I became a pediatric pulmonologist because of the asthma epidemic I witnessed as a medical student and pediatric resident in the Bronx. I took care of countless children who couldn’t breathe and whose mothers who couldn’t sleep because their children couldn’t breathe. Thank you, Mr. Mayor. 🙏
