This week's short story is Cat Noir. Great, simple cover. I like how it turned out. A story about a feral cat named Cleo. This is a crime story. And it is noir. Gritty. Cleo is the protagonist, but I must give a reader beware: Cleo does go through some abuse by a human. books2read.com/u/bM6ZPX

Here's another short story for the week. Walking Nonexistent was originally published in the anthology, No Secrets Better Kept, edited by Dayle Dermatis. This story is both surreal and dream-like. I found the perfect art for the cover, too. books2read.com/u/bQ07wd

Dispatch From The Other Side originally appeared in The Golden Door edited by Jamie Ferguson. My story involves a mysterious and infamous postcard and a young protagonist who lost his family crossing the southern border when he was just a baby. There's a slight science fiction element to it.

"Uncomfortable Shoes" is a short story originally published in Pulphouse. Wanted to write about a shoeshine stand with a shoeshiner who can see a customer's future. Got that plus a romance. I choose to believe the shoeshiner made the right choice in the end and everything worked out all right.

Edinburgh, Sep 2024, we came across the gallows being prepped for filming for Frankenstein. Security guard dropped a hint about what movie it was for. Our friend Graham took the picture of me with the gallows in the background. You never know what you might find during a walking tour of Edinburgh.
