Rob McCallum @robmccallum.bsky.social · 8hDidn’t manage to see any of his work in brief time I looked. I could a load of pages a day in a certain style mind you. If they were shit and I thought that was good 050
Rob McCallum @robmccallum.bsky.social · 8hI just saw a reels of a guy saying to be a real comic artist you need to do two complete finished pages a day. Which isn’t very realistic I don’t think. 17757
Rob McCallum @robmccallum.bsky.social · 09/10/2026When i was at art school I was doing ink sketches for an album cover design. Then the pages stuck together- there was a bit of paint in there too. And the chunks and bleeding ink stuck to the other page looked interesting and that ended up being the thing I photographed for the final project 010

He thinks sacrificing human intelligence in service to a bad search engine is worth it - that's because this fecker is selling the chips AI needs to work. Rob McCallum @robmccallum.bsky.social · 08/10/2026You won’t get the energy of the sketch but then you won’t have something going badly wrong to back up doubts years later! 110
Rob McCallum @robmccallum.bsky.social · 08/10/2026I’m the opposite and get bored especially when there’s a book trying to close as I’m drawing and don’t like breaking spines or having a spiral wire in the way 110
Rob McCallum @robmccallum.bsky.social · 08/10/2026I don’t get the good super finished drawings in sketchbooks thing. In my mind, sketchbooks are for mental spew, brain farts and shitty doodles to work things out. Later you look through them and hey, there’s a shitty brain fart that was a good idea to develop properly elsewhere. Thats just me tho 7383

I did it for the Bernie Wrightson tribute book. If I get the chance I’ll do more because I love drawing this sort of thing but this weekend I’ve been rendered useless by the past month or so. #procreate #ipadpro 611824
Rob McCallum @robmccallum.bsky.social · 07/10/2026Yes! Developing a mental cutoff point was key for me. 030
Rob McCallum @robmccallum.bsky.social · 07/10/2026Yeah. Back in my 20s I ended up going on sleeping pills to sort out my body clock and a few others to sort myself out with the damage done. In my 50s it’s near unthinkable to me now to do that. Almost not an option but somehow it happens from time to time. Next few days are extremely messy 140

Rob McCallum @robmccallum.bsky.social · 02/10/2026An early Canadian career highlight for me was getting to work with Steve Miner and tell him what a fan of House I am. (But only once. I wanted to be cool) 130
Rob McCallum @robmccallum.bsky.social · 02/10/2026I love it when I close all my activity rings on my watch when I’m sitting drawing. Rob McCallum @robmccallum.bsky.social · 28/09/2026Yeah. I do it for quick warmups as an exercise to follow the rules of the photo and make things blend with colour and light already established. This one, I made a lot more foggy. These are painted on photos. Keep all the colours from those already in the photo and obey the lighting 020
