Sane-ish is the best most of us expect from authors. You've got entire universes living in your heads along with characters who keep trying to do their own thing, regardless of what the authors think the storylines should be! 🤣

The kittens know they are cute and use that to get away with chaos and destruction! If you're still upset, they snuggle up to you and fall asleep in your lap. You can't stay mad at them

Thanks. I'm just hoping the cats grow out of the human skin demolition phase! Fortunately, I was dressed for staying at home, so my back only bled on an old t-shirt. The scratches were just deep enough to bleed, but they really did hurt in the moment. Unfortunately, I did not get to finish my book

Never been to Greece. Although, I could use a recharge after yesterday. Between my husband's early stage dementia, the rampaging cats covering the kitchen floor with paper towels and then knocking everything off my desk, and one of them sliding down my back claws out, I'm done

The book becomes a different story when someone tries to update the original. Would Maurice be the same with modern sensibilities and social media? If that's what someone wants, they should write it and leave the original stories alone.
