I enjoyed using #BlueskyForLearning. It was a good way to share ideas, engage with classmates, and stay connected to course discussions outside of class. #UCWPUBR300

Good luck to everyone with exams this week! I’m looking forward to our wrap-up class on Friday. If I remember correctly, we’ll also be covering the final course review and presentation reflections. Also Starbucks case study. #UCWPUBR300

The skill I find hardest is managing nerves while speaking in front of a group. It can make me rush or forget points. I can improve it by practicing more, taking deep breaths before presenting, and focusing on my main ideas instead of trying to memorize everything word for word. #UCWPUBR300

A bit nervous but also ready for the final presentation. I think practicing a few times will help me feel more confident and improve my flow. My main tips are to keep slides simple, avoid reading directly from them, and speak slowly and clearly. #UCWPUBR300

Great episode! Key takeaway for me: PR isn’t just about getting media attention, it’s about measuring real impact. Also, AI can support research and content ideas, but human creativity and relationships are still the most important part of PR. #UCWPUBR300

#UCWPUBR300 Social media has made crisis communication much faster. Organizations must respond quickly, share accurate information, and address public concerns in real time before misinformation spreads.

IKEA Canada’s press release on “Making Space” highlights diversity, inclusion, and support for BIPOC creatives. A news release works best because it clearly shares company updates. Related articles also cover IKEA’s diversity efforts and recognition as a top diverse employer. #UCWPUBR300

A news release promotes information from an organization, while a news article reports the story objectively for the public and may include different viewpoints. #UCWPUBR300

#UCWPUBR300 In the EBC case, the Barcelona Principles 4.0 show up in focusing on real impact (not just reach), using both data and feedback, and measuring outcomes across the whole campaign instead of vanity metrics.

#UCWPUBR300 People usually go from seeing the event → clicking for details → deciding to register → actually attending. We can track reach, clicks, and how many turn into registrations to see what’s working and where people drop off.

#UCWPUBR300 Success was measured through vaccination rates, reach, and engagement. It showed if people trusted and acted on the message. A key insight is that community voices helped reduce hesitancy and build trust.

#UCWPUBR300 Evaluation is important in PR because it helps measure success and improve future campaigns. The user journey influences KPIs by showing how audiences engage and respond at different stages.

#UCWPUBR300 Destination BC used a mix of paid, owned, earned, and shared media in their ski campaign. They engaged Australians with inspiring ski visuals, digital ads, and social media content to encourage them to choose BC for their next ski trip.

#UCWPUBR300 Not fully. Brands only control owned media (like their website or posts). But earned media (reviews/news) and shared media (what people say on social) are outside their control. For example, a viral TikTok review can boost or hurt a brand even if they didn’t create it.

#UCWPUBR300 For a new organic skincare startup, I’d do simple research like surveys, competitor analysis, and social media trends. For PESO, I’d focus on Owned (website/Instagram) and Shared (TikTok + micro-influencers), with only small Paid ads if budget allows.

#UCWPUBR300 This is a food recall situation where some kids’ bars may have been unsafe and removed from stores. A PR campaign here would aim to quickly inform parents, protect children’s safety, explain what happened, and rebuild trust in the brand.

#UCWPUBR300 I saw a sponsored Instagram ad for Uber Eats offering discounts. It fits Paid media in the PESO model because the company pays to promote it to users.

AI can help PR teams track trends on social media, analyze audience feedback, and generate campaign ideas faster. For example, brands can use AI tools to see what topics are popular online. But teams still need to fact-check and keep messages authentic. #UCWPUBR300

What surprised me most was the gap between how many PR professionals use AI and how few actually disclose it. I think clearer AI policies and more transparency with clients could help build trust and accountability. #UCWPUBR300

#UCWPUBR300 Kelsea’s session was very helpful. What stood out was her advice to network early and talk to people, not just apply for jobs. Her real-life examples made it easy to understand PR careers.

#UCWPUBR300 Psychographics are more important. They explain people’s values, interests, and opinions, which helps create messages that connect with them. Demographics only show basic details like age or gender, but they don’t explain why people think or act in a certain way.

#UCWPUBR300 This is a good example of media integration because Talk Shop Media is combining PR and digital by acquiring ROI Relations. Clients benefit by getting everything in one place, with more consistent messages and better reach.

#UCWPUBR300 I think “Be authentic” is the most important rule today. Even with AI creating lots of content, people still want brands to feel real and honest. Being authentic helps build trust and stronger connections with the audience.

#UCWPUBR300 This Zara post made me stop because it looks simple and aesthetic. The clean style and calm colors feel real and not too pushy. It connects because it shows the product naturally. This is different from paid ads, which usually try to sell more directly and feel less natural.

#UCWPUBR300 Yes, it’s still very relevant! Gary Vaynerchuk was right—everyone needs to create content. In the AI age, we should also focus on being real, honest, and human, not just using AI.

#UCWPUBR300 Media convergence means all media channels work together. This connects to the PESO model because it also combines paid, earned, shared, and owned media. With AI, it’s getting even better by helping brands send the right message on all platforms in a smarter and more connected way.

Yes, I think it’s still relevant. Even before AI, the idea of using all platforms together in PR was important. Today, it matters even more because people use social media, websites, and many channels. So PR needs one clear and consistent message everywhere. #UCWPUBR300

#UCWPUBR300 I think “Tell the truth” is the most important Page Principle today. News spreads fast, so if a company is not honest, people lose trust quickly. For example, when a company makes a mistake and admits it honestly, people are more likely to forgive it.

Ethics in PR is like the backbone without it, everything falls apart. According to the Canadian Public Relations Society, being honest and fair isn’t optional, it’s a must. In simple words we can say that of there is no ethics then there is no trust and no trust means no PR. #UCWPUBR300
