My understanding from a friend who works in the admin side of a university is that alumni donations jump substantially when their football team is winning. I don’t know if that’s true of every school, but it’s very plausible to me for some significant set of universities.

I’m inclined to think so. My theology is more in line with Open Theism, which has some overlap with Process Theology (at least in regards to God’s foreknowledge), and I find it persuasive against the Problem of Evil (which has to be reckoned with).

Yep, I definitely remember reading Whitehead in undergrad, and Hartshorne in my systematic theology classes at seminary, as well as reactions to them. Good, deep stuff.

I’m not fully onboard with Process Theology, but their understanding of creation as an ongoing process is something I really appreciate, and think the church benefits from considering more.

I once took down an internal web application by leaving it on the home page over lunch. It had a function call in a loop to retrieve some information after a minute, then spawn another instance of itself for the next call. Should have done loop or recursive call, not both!
