It's amazing how studios play "just the tip of it" with AI. I'm sure they pay a huge bonus if a prominent director uses a 20sec generated segment because it helps normalize it and the more stuff you consume that has GenAI the less credible you'll sound if you speak up against it.

A dear friend of mine's keyboard synthesizer gave in after 20 years of use and one of the few things that makes her happy is that she can work on creating her songs, so a few of us decided to put some money together and buy her a new one. I also can't think of a more fitting tribute to Glen Hansard.

I'm still very much working on the 2nd issue of Pages of Mages, that is set to release in the end of September. I'll try to finish up in time. There will be no other issues for a while and I'm done begging ppl to le me do them a favor so once again, I'll fill up the empty slot with my own comic.

I always want to work on something. I don't have the time or the financial means to continue Imago, Nebraska as a webcomic, but I've been thinking about turning it into a novel and continuing it that way. Too bad I can't write good prose in English and even if I could, almost no one would read it.

Yeah, I second this recommendation and also want to remind people that The Duck (www.theduckwebcomics.com) also exists. It's a nonprofit hosting and they already have an anti-AI policy in place. Personally, I'm present and somewhat active on both.

It is time to kick things off with the #DrunkDuckAwards Red Carpet Event. First of all, thanks to plymayer and fallopiancrusader from The Duck for making the backgrounds. Second, I know it is a little cheeky, but the announcer commentary is in alt text @theduckwebcomics.bsky.social #ddawards

Coming down the red carpet is Belle and Giselle from Birdmentime’s Hero. They are certainly dressed interestingly.

Rumor has it that they brainstormed solutions for their formal wear together over a couple a ton of bottles of Baileys. They came up with this rather infernal solution.

Both their dresses shimmer as if they are made from holographic material. Considering the projectors that someone placed around here, it is even odds that is what their dresses are. They look blue but are also very prismatic.

For a hint of naughtiness, their dresses are sheer in a couple of places and cover as little skin as possible. To complete their looks they are wearing necklaces and gladiator sandals. Word on the street is that those sandals are the “it” look this season.

Looking good ladies. I’m sure they are heading over to the bar right now for some more Baileys.

Making their stroll down the red carpet next is Major Patel and Lieutenant Laska from Crimson Stars: Chains of Command.

Major Patel looks absolutely stunning in her red dress with black flower accents. She is holding Lieutenant Laska possessively. The lieutenant has made an interesting fashion choice of wearing something that harkens back to military dress, but is anything but.

After all the dangerous missions in outer space they have had, it must be nice to be a the decidedly less deadly Drunk Duck Awards.

Representing the webcomic Exposure is Dr. Celia Whitlock and Inspector Cosimo Santini.

Dr. Whitlock is the Devil's advocate herself and the sex therapist from Exposure, who never misses a chance to raise eyebrows by taking on some of the coldest cases of medical science. At least if they'd be serial killers, we could visit the gift shop at the exit, but with all those rapists and pedophiles she's treating, this will be a rather uncomfortable evening for her. I wonder if she's here, who's keeping an eye on her sex offender patients? Anyway, she kept it to a bare minimum with the dress, and I hear even this is comic-accurate.

Accompanying her tonight is Inspector Santini. This young stud from Rome also came from the comic Exposure, although I believe he'll only show up as a main character in the 2nd story, starting around February next year. A little teaser never hurts. I'd be surprised if the inspector would need any sex therapy. His father made some of the biggest busts in the history of the DIA and Cosimo has every intention of living up to his name. We'll see how that goes once he's paired up with Whitlock to catch a sexual deviant serial killer. ‘Til then, we’ll have to make do with the modest look of a real gentleman.

I will start making story 2 of Exposure this year and I will release Issue 2 of the webcomic magazine before the summer ends, I will be available almost all the time to do fulfill my admin duties, but unfortunately I can't spend time, money and energy on other comic projects or developing later

@webcomiclibrary.bsky.social is a fantastic project, you should all contribute! But I think filtering through tags and content warnings is not something we should settle for. I hope either Luma or someone else will make a site happen where anyone can recommend webcomics simply as "similar works".
