This is Celtic. We shouldn’t be expecting to lose yet everyone was. That’s where we’re at. This new normal at Paradise sucks. I’m happy Benfica realised 3-0 was insurmountable and took the foot off the gas. We looked better second half but ONLY because they had given up at that stage…

Expected it to be much worse. Already out of the league cup, practically out of Europe and our grip on the top spot in the SPL is tenuous. Last season we got away with it. We can’t keep riding our luck, hoping that players turn up and prove their worth. It’s impossible to defend any of them now….

Celtic are a shambles from boardroom to bench no one gets out of this unscathed. We expected and got what we expected against Benfica,in many ways it could have been much worse so I’ll take small mercies of a 4-1 defeat (if Benfica came out of second gear it could easily have been 7 or 8) ….
