Robert Schechter @robertschechter.bsky.social · 05/08/2024You are aware, are you not, that for the first 144 years of our country women did not have the right to vote? And even when it happened, opponents of the 19th Amendment still existed and questioned its wisdom. So sadly we do have a history and tradition of questioning that right. 150

Robert Schechter @robertschechter.bsky.social · 25/07/2024 I love them, I really do, but I wish they had written "like cole and ME" and "with Dough and ME"! 130
Robert Schechter @robertschechter.bsky.social · 20/07/2024Of course. But that doesn't change the fact that the debate turned Biden into a candidate who is almost certain to lose to Trump. Biden saved us from Trump once by running, but now he has to save us again by withdrawing. It doesn't matter if it's fair. We have to keep Trump from the White House. 010
Robert Schechter @robertschechter.bsky.social · 19/07/2024Not really. I watched all 90 minutes of Biden, whom I love, but I was in pain the whole time. He didn't just make a few gaffes, but displayed a cognitive and physical decline for all 90 minutes, not just for a few moments that the press was taking out of context. 220
Robert Schechter @robertschechter.bsky.social · 25/06/2024Instead of "of all talents," couldn't he simply have written "talent"? That's three words where one would do. 130
Robert Schechter @robertschechter.bsky.social · 31/05/2024It's only schadenfreude if you are happy when bad things happen to someone who hasn't harmed you and poses no threat to you. Since Trump is a danger and a threat, being happy at his setbacks is just common sense. 000
Robert Schechter @robertschechter.bsky.social · 26/05/2024Passive income is income that is generated after the work is done. It doesn't mean that you didn't work hard for it and actively earn it when you were doing the work. "Passive' doesn't mean that it's an unearned windfall or a product of mere luck. It's a term of art. 000
Robert Schechter @robertschechter.bsky.social · 25/05/2024But all "passive income" starts with something of value that you already own and which produces income without your having to do anything further. After all, royalties are paid even after you die, and you can't be much more passive than that! 100
Robert Schechter @robertschechter.bsky.social · 23/05/2024Tell me, what other ethnic groups that say they are facing discrimination do you mock for saying so? Do you go around telling women they are no worse treated than men? Do you tell Black people that racial discrimination is all in their heads? To deny antisemitism is to be antisemitic. 100

Robert Schechter @robertschechter.bsky.social · 03/05/2024Please explain what you mean by "stolen images." Is there a difference between "training" on an image (something human artists routinely do when they study other artists and copy their art as classroom exercises) and actually copying an image that, on its face, infringes another copyright? 020

Robert Schechter @robertschechter.bsky.social · 24/02/2024Someone should send Hamas a heartbreaking image to get them to release the innocent hostages. Robert Schechter @robertschechter.bsky.social · 27/11/2023No, no one needs a rice cooker. There are many different ways of making rice, some of them (e.g., microwave) even easier than a rice cooker. If your first apartment is small, a rice cooker would needlessly take up too much storage space. (Plus, does EVERYONE need to know how to change a tire?) 310
