Faith was only pro-democracy insofar as it enabled the freedom to proselytize and practice. Beyond that, 'freedom of religion' has never meant 'freedom IN religion'. Freedom to choose your submission is not the same as democratic freedom. Christian political theologies are not 'democratic'.
