You have a problem with America’s descent into fascism? Take it up with the syllabus. It’s that thing’s fault.

Duh, the Democratic establishment is a random gender studies syllabus from Oberlin. Everyone knows that.

I guess it’s too much to ask anymore that it be run like an institution of education.

Sometimes I wish this university was run like a business (professional, accountable) rather than like the Business School (amateur-hour shitshow).

I mean I guess it did kind of end up being more historically accurate that way…

Obviously I wasn’t expecting much from “The Patriot” but the film mixing up its dates and thus having Mel Gibson tell a story of how he started randomly murdering what would have been his Cherokee allies for no reason meant I was the only one in the theater laughing my head off at that scene.

Kid maybe 13 years old in a shirt, tie, plus-fours and flat cap, hands on hips, cigarette hanging from his mouth and his feet pointing in weird directions.

It would take abandoning the soft Protestantism at heart of American politics, where forgiving one’s enemies is morally superior to defeating them.

Truest thing I ever wrote. Ten years ago to the day.
Screenshot of text that reads: “I just need to say this: Trump was never a candidate. He was never a policy advocate or a platform. He was chaos in a suit; a metaphorical truckload of fertilizer aimed straight at the heart of American governance. His "positions" were sticks of dynamite planted by every roar from his crowds. They armed him and sent him to destroy all national and international law because they have developed a worldview that government's purpose is to artificially elevate women, minorities, foreigners, and other "inferiors" above the rightful rulers of the world (white, male Americans). That worldview is not gone”

Inspired by a conversation I just had with students who were grateful my class is not making them memorize 86 different terms and instead asking them to spend hours digesting theory and applying it to real-world problems.
