I agree with others about weighted and full-sized keys. We started with a fairly basic portable Yamaha keyboard, think you can get similar models for around £500. This was fine up to grade 6 but now have a Kawei.

Surely Whitelock's is the only place to eat but it is neither 1 nor 2! I may be visiting more often in a year so making a note of all these suggestions

So sorry to see that. Losing someone with dementia is like a second bereavement and just as tough. Thoughts with you

I remember those when I was starting out. They weren't as efficient as licking but if you had a lot of envelopes to send out (printed overdue notices - remember those) very useful

Train 2 already. #bla26 delegates, signalling problems near Selhurst. I was aiming for the train an hour after this one

Off to #bla26 shortly. My daughter is on a school trip to Berlin with the medium sized bag so do I go big or little?

Also the frustration when the two providers have different labels and even format the titles and ISSNs differently

My daughter had horrendous weather on her bronze plus they got lost and the guide pointed them in the wrong direction so she vowed never to do silver and gets trauma when we get near the Surrey Hills

Swansea was lovely, and sandy (sorry Brighton but pebbles don't do it for me)

Me too. I still can't work out one of the purple category and I have tried pronouncing it multiple ways. re Green, I am always pleased when I can't get a group and realise it is something I know zero about so I don't need to feel bad

I found "In search of Berlin" by John Kampfner really informative. "Why the Germans do it better" is also a good read, although shortly after this was published it stopped being true

I still don't know what it is. Got it on the 6th go as the only word that was legitimate

Thanks for the tip. I was intrigued when I read the reviews when it came out. I still have some things that belonged to my mother and can remember what she cooked in/with them

Yes, looked it and thought, I don't watch any reality series especially US ones, spotted the spanagram and knocked the rest off in record time

This is my reading year according to StoryGraph.
Story Graph graphic showing the first book I read in 2025 was The prophet and the idiot and the last was Parisians by Graham Robb. The longest book was London a biography and the shortest was Astérix and Cleopatra

Also slightly annoyed not to get the purple group first as I rejected one word as it wasn't in the plural

We've done two more loads since and not a peep. Definitely weird

Robert Elves @robertelves.bsky.social · 05/08/2025
Phew. We came back from holiday and on the final spin of the first load ours made loud clunk and the drum stopped rotating freely. Cue morning and frantic calls to neighbours only to find out the fairies had visited in the night and cured it
