Richard Dawson & Circle - Henki richardmichaeldawson.bandcamp.com/album/henki “Henki is a record from Richard Dawson, the diminutive Geordie troubadour and Circle. Making it the greatest flora-themed hypno-folk-metal record you’ll hear this year.” (h/t Stuart Maconie’s Freak Zone) www.juno.co.uk

A Tribute to Kaledon

Yesterday we celebrated the life and passing of a teacher and friend.

It’s difficult to articulate words which embody the range, depth and richness of experience Kaledon opened up for me throughout my early years in Edinburgh.

As a weekly visitor to his home throughout the late 1980’s, and 1990’s, we shared food and played music, explored Celtic culture and language, through folklore, poetry, and song.

Led by Kaledon we undertook numerous seasonal journeys to sacred sites across Scotland, exploring and discovering cup and ring carvings in Dumfries, Galloway, Ayrshire and Argyle.

His friendship and guidance were truly transformative and have been a key catalyst to my own life-journey.

This quote by Carlos Casteneda encapsulates the deep sense of connectivity with nature, presence and wonder he cultivated and nurtured in myself and those around him.

‘For me the world is weird because it is stupendous, awesome, mysterious, unfathomable; my interest has been to convince you that you must assume responsibility for being here, in this marvellous world, in this marvellous desert, in this marvellous time.’
Carlos Casteneda

Limited though life may appear, following my own illness and current recovery, I feel Kaledon’s influence continue to nourish and enrich my life today and every day.

Donations: If you would like to make a donation to a legacy fund to support the preservation of Kaledon’s work, please do so here:
