Finally! The Za'atar seasoned saltines that started the whole journey. *Definitely* worth the wait for the spice mix to arrive via mail order. But it was difficult to postpone diving in until *after* taking pictures. Merry Christmas, Bluesky!

Finally! Just arrived, today. Now I can try the original recipe that started me on the whole seasoned saltine journey!

Jar of Za'atar spice blend. None of my local stores carry this so I had to mail order a jar. No idea what it tastes like.

OK, I like this idea of identifying more Christmas movies beyond the obvious standards. I'm gonna add "Enemy of the State" to that list.

Seasoned Saltines Solstice Round: This is the version I dreamed of but didn't think I could pull off. Lemon Cookie Saltines! They're sweet, they're lemony and I'm pleased as punch it worked, as I've never used coconut oil or lemon extract before. 1/3

Lemon cookie flavored saltines in a white bowl on the stove. I like that they're "stealth" in that they look like ordinary saltines until you bite into them. Just one sleeve of saltines doesn't fill this bowl very much, does it? Next time, I should make more.

Seasoned saltines post-mortem: Sesame: Flavor could be stronger, however it *does* linger so need to be careful. Ranch: Too salty. Try different mix. Thai Green Curry: Yummy! Best of the bunch! Pizza: Too much paprika. Used for visual effect but flavor intrudes.
