You could be cynical and say Marvel is just copying ABSOLUTE BATMAN’s body-horror stylings but MIDNIGHT SPIDER-MAN #1 is horrifically good fun! Bought at Reading’s best comic shop @crunchcomics.bsky.social

I’m late to the party but so glad I caught COYOTE VS. ACME at the cinema finally. It’s laugh out loud funny & a love letter to Looney Tunes characters. It deserves BARBIE level success!

It was a ‘Secret Screening’ so I wasn’t aware it was him. He really isn’t given a character to work with in this!

Just back from THE UPRISING movie with ANDREW GARFIELD. It’s 1381 and half of England has been killed off by the plague. The king’s advisors decide to raise taxes on the poorest in society. The peasants have had enough. And so did I. I left after 45 minutes. Just dull mechanical storytelling.

Aren’t some horror characters better left mysterious? Pinhead & co-workers reform in HELLRAISER: THE RETURN OF THE PRIEST. There’s the odd nice idea here & there, but not enough to engage me. They should have just called it CENOBITES REUNITED.

FALL 2 feels like a GCSE drama given a crazy budget. There’s some breath-taking action but far too many shots of wobbly rope bridges with bits dropping off. Hopefully the young teens will love its simplicity.

I WANT YOUR SEX is a parody of erotic thrillers, visually cartoonish revelling in the superficiality of the art world it mocks. OLIVIA WILDE & COOPER HOFFMAN excel as dominatrix boss and naive employee inverting traditional #metoo territory. Great to see CHARLI XCX’s comedy side. Shallow fun!
