Robcelletti @robcelletti.bsky.social · 08/10/2026No point in spending what you spend on pitching (by the way, Schlittler doesn’t even have a fair market deal yet) if it can’t carry you to wins in the postseason. Deeply disappointing from Fried. 000
Robcelletti @robcelletti.bsky.social · 07/10/2026Only the rangers could dominate zone time and have an active forecheck and get doubled up on shots haha 000

Robcelletti @robcelletti.bsky.social · 06/10/2026He’s not the first and certainly won’t be the last as long as Cashman and Boone are running the show. 010
Robcelletti @robcelletti.bsky.social · 06/10/2026It’s pretty clear the Yankees, a professional baseball organization, don’t play baseball at the developmental levels of their system. It’s all about optimizing and gaming analytics. No other explanation for a guy with as much natural talent as Lombard to forget how to catch and throw. 131
Robcelletti @robcelletti.bsky.social · 04/10/2026The idea that the Jets beating the Browns at home would change *anything* regarding the future of the Jets other than draft position is absurd on its face. Glenn isn’t the guy and whoever the next QB is doesn’t matter if the coach is a dunce. Another season over in October. 000
Robcelletti @robcelletti.bsky.social · 04/10/2026They didn’t exactly tee off on Smoltz or Maddux in ‘96, especially in games 1 and 2! 020
Robcelletti @robcelletti.bsky.social · 03/10/2026I’m holding out hope that this is a showcase. I will say that to the eye test, which a lot of GM’s still rely on, has been decent, and his size and handedness (“tools!”) make him seem valuable. I don’t doubt there would be interested trade partners. 030

Robcelletti @robcelletti.bsky.social · 30/09/2026It’s silly to overreact to one game, but the Rangers gave their fans absolutely nothing to hang their hat on tonight. That was shockingly poor for a team that desperately needs a good start to their season. A carbon copy of so many of last year’s poor efforts. 012

Robcelletti @robcelletti.bsky.social · 28/09/2026I would argue that at least Lindgren had measurably positive impacts for a few seasons before the wheels fell off for obvious health reasons. Other than his dopamine-fueled first 30ish games, Schneider has been absolutely awful. 110

Robcelletti @robcelletti.bsky.social · 23/09/2026He has been a complete shitshow for multiple seasons. I can’t think of a player I’ve hated watching more, and that includes late stage Dan Girardi. 110
Robcelletti @robcelletti.bsky.social · 23/09/2026You can go a long way in the NHL with a defense-first approach anchored by an elite goalie (see: the 2012 “Black and Blueshirts”). But you need absolute dogs at forward if that’s how you’re gonna play it, and this team is SEVERELY lacking in that department. 100
Robcelletti @robcelletti.bsky.social · 23/09/2026Three #NYR takes based on a somewhat limited viewing of the game: 1. Defense will be solid/good. The talent is there. 2. Special teams will improve. 3. Concerned that this forward group doesn’t have enough, both in terms of talent, but also overall vibe/energy. Very meh. 110
Robcelletti @robcelletti.bsky.social · 21/09/2026He even drew up the Jarvis Brownlee personal foul penalty! 000
Robcelletti @robcelletti.bsky.social · 21/09/2026Couldn’t agree more, and I thought the Jets were prepared and played hard for 60+ minutes, which is also coaching, and is a massive improvement over last season (and the last 10+ seasons in general). Ultimately I think the big punt return is what cost them the game more than timeout usage. 000
Robcelletti @robcelletti.bsky.social · 21/09/2026Realize I’m in a very small minority here but I did not come away from yesterday’s Jets loss fuming at Aaron Glenn. Obviously coaching / clock decisions are part of the blame pie, but the offensive line got pushed around and special teams were abysmal. Those are execution things, not coaching. 200

Robcelletti @robcelletti.bsky.social · 16/09/2026I’ve gotten carried away the last two seasons after 12-15 games of good 5v5 metrics which tanked due to drama/Lavi checking out (24-25) then Igor/Fox injuries and poor depth (last year). If they make it to the midpoint above break even in terms of shots/chances I’ll be somewhat encouraged. 110

Robcelletti @robcelletti.bsky.social · 05/09/2026Yeah, I think those decent starts hit the wall at 15 games, which is why I said 25, but maybe should revise that up to 40. Again, my hope is that because this is a legitimately better roster, there’s more staying power. We’ll see. 000
Robcelletti @robcelletti.bsky.social · 05/09/2026I think a reasonable goal is to be a 51-ish percent shot/chance share team, so that’s what I personally want/need to see through the first 25 games or so to have some belief It doesn’t absolve Drury of his past sins, but I think this is a solid, modern NHL roster with decent depth and flexibility. 200
Robcelletti @robcelletti.bsky.social · 30/08/2026Not sure if Max Fried is trying to evolve into a top of the zone pitcher but every time I watch him I just feel like I’m watching a guy on the verge of a massive injury with an 18-month recovery timeline. Just constantly laboring and missing spots, the exact opposite of last year. 110
Robcelletti @robcelletti.bsky.social · 22/08/2026Generally yes but there’s a reason teams are trying the Luis Durango/Chandler Simpson thing too. Can’t have all 9 in the lineup chasing launch and max exit velo. As you said, it’s hard enough to hit but guys who just get bat on ball are undervalued right now. 000
Robcelletti @robcelletti.bsky.social · 18/08/2026Nice! Nothing better than a tube amp. I have a tiny 5W Epiphone. Would love to invest in something bigger one day 010
Robcelletti @robcelletti.bsky.social · 06/08/2026His .690 OPS is cumulatively bad this season. Maybe he’ll regress back towards his career number, but I also think the time to trade him was last winter when his value was high and when everyone agreed that running back the ‘25 team was probably a bad idea. 100
Robcelletti @robcelletti.bsky.social · 06/08/2026Maybe there were no real offers last winter but I was highly interested in trading Jazz at what was likely the height of his value. 210
