Trump and his administration seem to think Americans will be ok with American auto alternatives to BMW, Mercedes, VW, Audi, Lexus, Infiniti, Acura, Range Rover, … etc. I think he’s measured that incorrectly. And if he’s pushing Tesla - they are like the Pontiac of today’s EV autos.

I’d say Trump folded. He played a 25% tarrif bluff and got 10,000 troops to go on a roadtrip, a task force and credit for an existing border deal. No border wall funds, no 51st state, no reductions in existing foreign support subsidies. That’s it - that’s all. And MAGA celebrates that as a win.
