I’ve got the same album, and the same stylus pressure gauge! My turntable is somewhat less vintage however.

I’m obviously not the only one in this position so I’m interested to know, what career path would you have followed, knowing who you are now?

I never knew what I wanted to do as a career till it was too late to train to do it. I should have been a mechanic/engineer because I can do & enjoy that stuff at a good hobbyist level. I was advised at school to avoid that route because “the future is electronic”.1/2

Another one of my favourite albums. Nerdy fact: The title is a clever little play on words, Reading, Writing and Arithmetic could be a reference to the educational “3 Rs” but the Reading is actually the town, where the cans hail from.

I’m really enjoying your choices, not everything is to my taste, but I really appreciate the effort you’re putting in, and a there’s a few albums that I’m not familiar with that I’m definitely going check out.

I know mate, she’s hoping to research the use of snake venom in pharmaceuticals, so there’s all kinds of snake oil jokes to be had there.

What an immense album this is, just incredible to juxtapose it with his earlier more pop stuff (which, make no mistake is still great). This is a permanent fixture in my top 10, and if you get a chance to listen to the Detroit Mix, oh my word it’s glorious.

My eldest daughter, who is shortly to graduate as an actual scientist, has constructed a shrine to help her get tickets to a K Pop band tour…🤣

A makeshift shrine with candles and photos of the K Pop band Stray Kids my daughter has created to increase her chances of getting tickets to their tour
