I have to say, the best one you ever did was "Freak Football". I can still quote lines from it over 25 years later. One of my favourites was the but where one of the crowd can be heard shouting "Get on with it you tossers" to which you voice over "And with that, the tossers did" as a goal is scored.

Night in the Lonesome October by Richard Laymon. A horror novel where a bloke goes out for a walk over several different nights in October. That's it.

It's a great album. Bizarrely, it was the first full Dexys album I heard, having only listened to the singles before that so had a very different introduction to it.

I can't say loudly enough what an absolute joy this series has been. Anchored in Beatleyness but throwing so much light on other areas of Sixties culture. Andy Miller's two parts focusing on The Kinks was my absolute favourite but they were all so good. Thank you Chris and everyone involved.

Please tell me this is "End of Series 1" and not "End of Series". It's been magical with every single interview bringing something different and unique.

Fascinating EPE episode. Very much like listening to an audiobook of Maureen's biography. I'd be interested to know how new to peoples ear's are these stories? Does she give many interviews or was it a rare opportunity. Can't wait for part two.

Another cracking episode. I've loved all the brilliant little stories over the last few that make you rethink what you know about classic albums and moments in time. Which I suppose is the whole point of EPExp when you think about. But just to say, it's working really well Chris. Love it.

Great rundown top 40 by The Guardian and great to see it's not the typical list of Kinks tracks that dismisses everything after 1971. www.theguardian.com/music/2026/j...

To coincide with a new exhibition in London about the Davies brothers, we rate the best of a band who brought a sociologist’s eye to hard rock, gentle pastoralia and so much in between

Another fantastic trip on the railway. Not only have services been reduced on the line between Milton Keynes and the Midlands, they've reduced the train from 10 coaches to 5. My luxury two square foot of carpet is wonderfully comfortable. #londonnorthwestern #LNW

I love The Unlimited Dream Company, Running Wild, High Rise and Memories of the Space Age. So many great works and a fantastic author.

Astonishing isn't it. There were 2380 days between the release of Please Please Me and Abbey Road. No other band in history has gone on a musical journey like that and I don't think anyone ever will. Compare I Saw Her Standing There with Come Together. It is, but it isn't the same band.

A lovely interview. It always gets me is how fast it all happens. April 1965 they were working on Help. 4 years later they were about to start work on Abbey Road and the fun and games of 65 had given way to the verge of breaking up. Incredible. Some bands take 4 years to record an LP these days.

Finally completed part 2 (it made it into a third dog walk this morning). No exaggeration, this 2 hours has to be one of the finest, most joyous pieces of podcasting ever. What a fantastic celebration of music. Listened to Village Green last night just because. God save the village green.

Listened to the first half of Pt 2 on this morning's dog walk and will finish it on this afternoon's. I walked through the field with a broad grin on my face. Love the way it turned into a deep dove of TVGPS. I love the Kinks so much.

Absolutely loving the Kinks love. I discovered them exactly as discussed. Except mine was a Woolworths double cassette bought in the late 80's. I don't think Pye were too bothered what albums they released given their final Kinks LP was a film soundtrack about a man who'd had a penis transplant.

Only thing I could tell Vivian is that I heard he was in Pompeii in 1972 and Gdansk in 2008. Can't help other than that.

I believe the Macca poll result was genuine. 13 year old girls in 1962 are 18 by 67. The Beatles had stopped touring and took six months to follow up on their last single. That double A failed to top the charts for the first time since 63. In the context of the time, they had a changing fanbase.

Wow, I never knew what that was until now. I would drive past that at least twice a week, every week, for years when I attended the Sea Cadet Unit in the Old Dock Cottages.

Sits right alongside Strawberry Fields / Penny Lane and Vienna as one of the greatest Number 2 hit singles of all time. Beautiful backing vocals from Ray's then wife Rasa.

Not only is it astonishing that this work of genius did not chart on release but it's also astonishing that from this point until 1993 The Kinks released a further 18 albums of original material and not a single one charted in the UK.

On the subject of The Velvet Underground, I think I'm very, very much in the minority but their self titled 1969 album, The Velvet Underground is a beautiful piece of work and my favourite by them.

So would I be right in saying, when I was a kid and my sister and I would ask for different things for tea, and my Dad would sarcastically say "What do you think this is, Joe's Cafe?" Would that be where Joe's Cafe came from? Was it that well known outside of Liverpool?

Drank in there a few times when I was in the Navy. Before the change to opening hours it was the only pub on the strip that stayed open until the early hours.

Running for two series from 1982-1984 “The Young Ones” was an anarchic BBC sitcom starring Rik Mayall and Adrian Edmonson along with a host of stars from the British alternative comedy scene. Despite being set in North London almost all of the outdoor scenes were filmed in Bristol. 1/2

Didn't the police have a boat shed with their own boat over by the Thekla in the end? I think that's gone as well now but I certainly remember it in the 80's.

I can't wait until we get Anthology 12 where we finally get to hear that chair squeak at the end of A Day in the Life isolated and in Dolby Atmos plus, as a bonus, they'll include a remixed version of Ringo's fart from the Saville Row Get Back Sessions.
