If you just.. tell me what it is YOU want, we can work from there?

[Roark runs a hand through his hair anxiously, just needing something to do with his hands. It's been getting longer. He needs a haircut soon. This is why he doesn't date actually, he thinks.] Ichika is pretty secretive, I-! I'm sorry, I- I'm confused.

100

Help YOU, you mean. You're not going in, no matter what you say. Sorry.

Roark H. @roarktype.poke.surf · 30/09/2026

Another dive, another failure. We're taking the weekend off before we get back to it.

[A second of respite woman, please. He drops the menu to the table and nearly knocks over his glass in reaching for her. /Please don't cry./] No! No that's not what I- argh. We.. had fun. I got .. I didn't think .. Hold on. I thought you were exclusive with Ichika?

Roark H. @roarktype.poke.surf · 30/09/2026

Sorry for the letdown. This may be specific to Sinnoh. Unless the Distortion has spread, which would be.. out of my hands!

Roark H. @roarktype.poke.surf · 29/09/2026

Coming from the guy who was mumbling cracker ham cheese ham cheese cracker? Sure. It's good to keep time. For you especially. If you're gone for days in there...

Roark H. @roarktype.poke.surf · 29/09/2026

It's pretty easy actually! No connection inside but time still passes on my gear. Checked the time before exiting and immediately after.

Roark H. @roarktype.poke.surf · 29/09/2026

Hours in the cave have started changing. Five inside, maybe? Almost twenty seven outside.

230

[It isn't that a few people haven't tried. That Gardenia and Candice haven't encouraged him. . . He just doesn't know how to make it fit into his life. Attending Ichikas party was distraction enough.]

100

[She can stare all she wants. Roark won't be meeting her eyes any time soon. He pretends to look over the drink menu. When the waiter arrives, he doesn't even look at what they're offering, just nods for them to fill his glass.] I'm.. too busy to date. If that's what this is about..

100

As ready as I'm going to be.

000

Roark H. @roarktype.poke.surf · 25/09/2026

Better to go while we have daylight. It won't matter inside but.. it will make me feel better.

100

[He clears his throat, wipes his cheeks with a knuckle as if trying to wipe away the redness there the same way he would coal dust.] Ten? Maybe nine. I work with your girlfriend but.. didn't expect to hear from you again.

100

Roark H. @roarktype.poke.surf · 25/09/2026

[Roark is polite enough not to stare when cloth slips down and reveals more of the pale skin of her shoulder. All it takes is a brief glance as he moves to his own seat to see every mark he left is gone. It's been months. Why wouldn't they be.] I- ah-

Roark H. @roarktype.poke.surf · 25/09/2026

//and if i forgot to change any of the info there? hit me with hammers. 🤷

010

Roark H. @roarktype.poke.surf · 23/09/2026

[Personally Roark wouldn't mind her guidance on the other side. But he isn't the one in charge. This is one last favor, he feels. Roark only steps away from her to place a hand against the small of her back and point her towards their table before pulling out a chair for her.]

101

Roark H. @roarktype.poke.surf · 23/09/2026

[When she tucks into his side, Roark wraps an arm around her almost naturally. Something about unnatural things fitting best between cracks underground.] Pretty sure she worships the beast. It's why we- well, Kouki, isn't allowing her to go in. Sure she's not happy about that.

100

Roark H. @roarktype.poke.surf · 16/09/2026

Not sure how good it is as dinner conversation but.. sure. Your girl- ..friend.. partner? is involved too so I'm sure you'll hear eventually. I went with her into the distorted caves once before. She.. One of her companions got stuck. I'm going to go back in and get them out.

100

Roark H. @roarktype.poke.surf · 16/09/2026

From what I've heard it's because you're constantly skirting rules... It is amazing what you've done with your city though, make no mistake about that. Don't know how you managed it. [Holding the door open for her, other hand placed lightly against the small of her back.]

100

Roark H. @roarktype.poke.surf · 15/09/2026

[Kouki is a huge softie, he's learned.] He didn't want to shame me. I'll issue an apology to the region. For Chiyo.. I have a different plan to make it up to her.

100

Roark H. @roarktype.poke.surf · 15/09/2026

[Could his movements be any stiffer? Can everyone tell he never goes out like this? It's not the same with Candice and Gardenia. He's- well.] I'm getting off pretty light actually. Told Kouki he could make a big deal out of terminating my contract since I'm already on the way out but...

100

Roark H. @roarktype.poke.surf · 14/09/2026

Well I had to dress nice. [Still not looking at her. Even as her hand slides along his chest. He wishes his face had its usual dirt to hide any redness there.] Ah. Yeah. Had a meeting with Kouki earlier. We.. worked some things out. I went it prepared for a much worse outcome.

[It's one of the sets in his rotation for dinners with his parents, or Gard and Candice. It's the nicest he's got. And still, it doesn't hold a flame to-] You look stunning.

100

Roark H. @roarktype.poke.surf · 12/09/2026

[When she opens the door, Roark holds out a hand and looks away from her, face burning- He was always going to be outdressed by her, but this is.. Simply unfair. He's in one of his few nicer outfits. A burgundy button-up that, much like her dress, is skin tight, and a pair of white dress pants.]

100

@faeambrosia.poke.surf [Knock knock!] [Roark arrives at (Kannas Location) feeling lighter than he did before his meeting with Kouki. There are still problems, but they have a plan. Everything is going to be okay. It's all looking up. He isn't sure what Kanna would want to see him about though.]

100

[He did this last time he was here too. This time he hesitates, then shakes his head. It's nothing.] I'll see you this weekend then! I'll get with Andreeva and make sure she has everything ready on her end too.

101

[Roark lights up- just a little. It's an obstacle down. One he thought he'd have to push harder for. He gets what Kari means now when she says Koukis just too easy.] Yeah. Of course. Absolutely. [Nodding emphatically and going to stand to leave.] Oh.

100

Roark H. @roarktype.poke.surf · 10/09/2026

[txt] You should be thanking me. You'll never get a chance to get this close again! 👍

100

The measurements we've been taking though.. They're similar to those that were atop the mountain before. I think we'll find an opening instead. So we take it. Andreeva can make beacons to guide us out. [Easy!]

100

Roark H. @roarktype.poke.surf · 10/09/2026

I mean, I thought about askin Kari but she made it clear she wanted nothin to do with any of it before when it was just research. So.. yeah. [Wince. The lotteries Kouki wins are never the fun ones.] We go to the end of the cave this time. Last time, with her, Giratina was there waiting.

[It's a unique talent that Roark possesses... the ability to both endear and agitate him. The agitation he's used to with Byron, but this is an odd combo. He takes a breath. Then two. Realizes that won't be enough and pinches the bridge of his nose.] Arceus guide and deliver me to Your light.

"Hello, Sinnoh Region! I think... most of you know me by now, one way or another. But if not, let me introduce myself! My name is Fujibayashi Chiyo! I'm from Veilstone City! I'm a wanted criminal, and I'm GOING to be your next Champion!" She was BUZZING as she pointed a finger right at the camera.

114

I was planning on someone who has been in before going with me..? [Staring intently at Kouki.]

100

Still. It's not the regions forgiveness he cares about here.] Sure. I can do that. [And it's left at that. Whatever he can do to make it easier for Kouki.] ... [Can a grin be both shit-eating and bashful? Roarks is.] Noo, course not.

100

[He was hoping Kouki would agree to crucify him so he DIDN'T have to issue a public apology. It would be less mortifying if the region thought he'd lost his rocks in a battle and was removed early as opposed to being publicly vulnerable. What the Champ says goes though. ...

100

She lost her Crobat to Giratina when I accompanied her. We've been in its caves, sitting on the edge of its domain.. I want to actually enter and find Aki for her. I don't know what else to do. [How to absolve guilt.]

100

[He puts so much on Kouki. His junior. He knows what it's like to be in a role you didn't ask for when you're young. Kouki is doing his best and he's always seen Roark for what he is. Roark tries to word his next request carefully.] I want to make it up to Chiyo.

100

A league statement admonishing my behavior and condemning how much force I used. They don't know I intended this to be my last battle. I can handle my reputation being eroded a little bit. It won't change how my miners think of me or the tunnel contract. If it makes it easier for you.

100

Tumultuous times in Sinnoh let lots of things go unnoticed. That people, children, are afraid to face him now is.. heartbreaking. He sinks lower in the chair as Kouki continues. When he mentions how it LOOKED... Roark can't meet his eyes.] So make a show of retiring me early.

100

Begrudgingly he thinks about how no one seemed to care about the optics when it was his father embarrassing him in front of the region at 15 for his inaugural battle. Kouki wasn't in charge then though. Cynthia was. She missed a lot of things, he reminds himself.
