— Though the thorns pricked their skin and made drips of tar roll down their shirt and flesh, they did no damage at all. * Dear Asriel. I don't need a tool like that. ▷ Chara raises their knife above their head, above the trembling boy ahead of them, like an executioner's judgement. —

— * 'Help me.' But, you resist me when I displease you. * You attack me when you say you're to protect. ▷ They're cherry-picking, but they're the one in control. The punches hit them without fail; Chara made no effort to avoid them as their death-knell stomps approached Asriel. —

▷ Whatever passed for morbid satisfaction to Chara went through them for a moment, briefly overcoming their all-consuming anger, as they saw Asriel's arm fall off in an arc before promptly vaporizing. Then they advanced, step by step, through the haze - cold smile widening, red eyes shining. —

▷ For a moment, Chara is stunned, brows furrowed. When has Asriel, or even Flowey, pushed back against them this much? They pull their knife back, then are promptly struck by Sunflower's counterattack, not expecting it in the slightest. It doesn't hurt them, but they flinch as if it did. —

— ▷ There is a heavy crackling sound as Chara steps off of the ground in a burst of movement, pouncing forward to close the distance at absurd speeds. Their knife is already sailing with deadly accuracy to meet its end-point, the neck of their brother. * I don't care. ▷ Smile. Red eyes. Teeth.

— ▷ Briefly, there is silence as they stand rigid, still after Sunflower's speech. * ... Finally, you understand something. ▷ Their voice is filled with mock congratulations, a lack of sympathy or empathy... cruelty for the sake of cruelty. * For once, a lesson I've taught you has sunk in. —

▷ Echoing steps, ominous and foreboding as Chara's killing intent fills the Volcano. Despite what should be near-total vision-obscuring smoke and haze surrounding them, their piercing red eyes find the exact spot where Sunflower's own would be the moment their name is uttered for the first time. —

— ▷ Finally, they land behind the last foe - the one they'd jumped off of - delivering a swift vertical killing blow that split them cleanly in half. They take a deep breath, savoring the adrenaline. * ... Now... ▷ They turn towards the maw of the Volcano, marching inside. * Let us finish this.

— ▷ They land on top of a General's lid-head, then springboard off of it. Knife glowing a dull red, they hold it above one shoulder and both hands come up to the handle. Chara swings their weapon horizontally with all their might, a huge scarlet slash decimating the wave with one blow. —

— ▷ Chara's dodges are purely instinctual, the globs of molten lava shot from their swiftly falling foes that manage to clip them seem to roll off ineffectually. Their smile stretches across their face as the blood (or whatever passes for it) in their body boils with the heat of combat. —

— ▷ After murmuring to themself, they launch forward into battle with blade whirling through the air. Vorpal hums follow along its path as it slices clean through one General, then another - Chara's power so immense that there isn't a trace of resistance against their swing. —

▷ Chara arrives at the foot of the volcano mere moments later, their knife already in their hand as they spot the Petal Generals - clearly repurposed trash cans - awaiting their offensive. * A pitiable resistance. * Delaying the inevitable. * As you always do, 'Asriel'. —

▷ Chara's footsteps fall heavy as they ascend. Not much further now. They wonder if any of the heroes even made it this far, yet. Likely not, unless they were actually stopped before the end. * I wonder if he'll show, after all.
