At the Ministerial Conference, NGOs brought helmets from local shops to demonstrate to decision-makers what riders are actually using. They came straight from the streets. We selected some of them for independent lab testing with support from @FIAFdn. Lab results are on their way

Every helmet tells a story. We asked NGOs to collect helmets from local markets, the same ones riders wear every day. They brought them to the Ministerial Conference early this year. We took 11 of these helmets for testing to see how safe they were. Stay tuned for the results.

Safe helmets reduce the risk of death by 6x and brain injury by 74%. People are doing the right thing by wearing helmets, but if that helmet is unsafe, we are letting them down.  Thanks @Uber for supporting our white paper and the rider stories 👇 youtu.be/FTLQbUq3Z4c

During consultations for our white paper, 65%–91% of riders said safety mattered more than price. When we allow nonstandard helmets into the market, we let people down. NGOs can expose them and stand up for people’s right to be safe Watch the stories youtu.be/ae4i5UpXQOw?si=CNQyd31rh5x…

People rely on certification labels, but not all helmets have them, and not all labels are trustworthy. Riders can’t easily tell which helmets are safe. Governments should implement comprehensive helmet market regulations. Watch the stories from riders youtu.be/xghBRW5f4eQ?feature=shared
