Diesel (before low sulphur) was a really dirty fuel. These were all over the Central Valley in the 60s and 70s to warm orchards and prevent freezing of fruit or nuts. Smudge pots.

Move to Turlock California or nearby towns for relatively lower rates for electricity than the rest of the State. Because TID is a publicly owned, non-profit municipal utility, its retail prices do not include the same corporate profit margins, massive wildfire liabilities, or investor returns.

TIL that our power company (TID) gets more KW from solar and wind than the huge power house at our huge local reservoir/dam. Natural Gas: 34% Large Hydroelectric (e.g., Don Pedro Reservoir): 26% Wind: 21% Solar: 6% Other Renewables (Geothermal & Small Hydro): 7% Nuclear/Unspecified: 6%
