National Fear Day 10/13 What do we fear the most? Heights, spiders, snakes and public speaking, and maybe these tech symbols. Also in the top 10 is the fear of elevators. My advice? If you fear elevators, you should take steps to avoid them. "Fear is a reaction, courage is a decision." I'm afraid Winston Churchill gave us that one.

Columbus Day (10/12) A day of history celebrating this famous Italian guy. Some may not know that Christopher Columbus actually got lost in his travels. Probably because the directions were not…pacific? South Philly accent, am I right?

National Chess Day (10/11) 2 out of 10 adults in the USA play chess. You know why the white bishop is the fastest piece on the board? It's on F1. Also sad for chess players in the UK…they have a tough match. Why? I mean they did lose their queen after all. Not loving the jokes? Hmmm, maybe I have a "checkered" past?

National Metric Day (10/10) What do you call a metric cookie? A gram cracker! That may not crack you up as America won't switch to the Metric System. We won't accept a foreign ruler. (or maybe we just have a…foot fetish?) I hope your day measures up.

International Beer & Pizza Day 10/9 There's no better feeling than a warm pizza box on your lap, and a cold beer in your hand. Thank Kevin James for the thought about pizza, and me for the part about the beer. They say beer can make you smarter. Maybe, I know for some it made a Budweiser.

National Hero Day (10/8) Heroes are ordinary people who do the extraordinary.  Today, be a hero: be somebody who makes everybody feel like somebody. What do you call a hero somebody made totally of ice? Justice. And in NYC, it's a big…sandwich.

National Taco Day (10/6) It's okay to fall apart sometimes, tacos fall apart all the time and we still love them. Have a great day, eat a taco, It's cheaper than therapy. Speaking of something mental… Remember taco cat spelled backwards is taco cat.

National Consignment Store Day (10/4) A place where half of us shop and about 90% of us donate. Today is a day of remembrance when a well known thrift store burned down. The good news was no one was hurt, but there was a lot of secondhand smoke. (PS: Love that sweater, where'd you get it?)

National Techie Day 10/3 Only about 1 out of 3 of us consider ourselves as advanced users of technology. But think about the tech you use every day. As an example, scissors are a beautiful simplistic piece of technology. It's nothing but…shear genius.

National Custodial Workers Day (10/2) You may know them as the maintenance staff, caretakers or janitors. They take care of us where we live, work and go to school... so please give them an XXL smile today. What does a sneaky janitor say when he jumps out of the closet!? SUPPLIES!

National Pumpkin Spice Day (10/1) About half of us look forward to that flavored cup of coffee.Little know trivia…If you say "pumpkin spice latte" 3 times into a mirror. A young woman in yoga pants will appear and tell you her favorite things about Fall. And if you don't like pumpkin Spice…it's also national black dog day. :0)

National Chewing Gum Day (9/30) About one out of 4 of us will be chewing some today, and do so about 3 days a week. If grocery stores didn't let cashiers chew gum at work, would it be safe to say thatBaggers can't be chewers?
