Ry Lanham @rlanham1963.bsky.social · 14/07/2026It is not a rational trade. If you want to speculate on Mr. Musk or a hyperfuture in space, by all means buy it. At current valuations (comparable to Apple and Amazon and for a brief time more than them) it is unrealistic and even silly. 050
Ry Lanham @rlanham1963.bsky.social · 13/07/2026The Age of Breakthroughs accelerates when you can simulate vast numbers of potential cascades--this is again likely a quantum computing domain. So, I generally view QC as a necessary step to massive rapid medical advancement. 000
Ry Lanham @rlanham1963.bsky.social · 13/07/2026Evolution by its very nature has cascade effects. All complex systems do. Simplicity can be defined as the absence of the unpredictable. Right now, we run tests to see what happens--clinical trials. This is hugely inefficient. 100
Ry Lanham @rlanham1963.bsky.social · 13/07/2026The fundamental problem of medicine now is cascade effects. In genetics this is called a pleiotropic phenomenon. In short, one thing causes a scattershot of outcomes/events. Quantum computing will be a big help in identifying these. Some may be trivial, but some may be fatal. 100
Ry Lanham @rlanham1963.bsky.social · 13/07/2026In plain language, quantum computing augments AI through superior pattern matching--especially in deep, complex data sets (biology). QC acts as a ¨coprocessor¨ that can ¨solve¨ relationships that current conventional AI or even real world model-type AI (Yann LeCun) can integrate into inferences. 000
Ry Lanham @rlanham1963.bsky.social · 13/07/2026An AI model, by itself, is stateless; it doesn’t remember previous interactions, cannot execute code, and has no access to files or the internet. A harness provides the environment to overcome these limitations by specifically enabling them in an external program. It´s almost a mind/body thing. 000
Ry Lanham @rlanham1963.bsky.social · 13/07/2026In the framework of AI, particularly when discussing AI agents, a harness is the software infrastructure that wraps around an AI model (mostly an LLM) to turn it from a "reasoner" into a "doer."
