Also, teaching cats! The interface is different but the benefits are similar. My cat had such a hard time settling in but after we learned sit and high five he seemed more confident.

Remembering Wendell Berry, novelist, poet, farmer, environmentalist, Kentuckian. Let's all pray something good into the world.

Every once in a while I’ll think I smell a photo dark room. Which I definitely don’t. But it’s such an evocative memory for me.

Personally I’m focused on the regular election and electing the Dem for the full term. Which is still a long shot but I’ve vet on those before.

Our very republican state legislature passed a law a couple years ago to prevent our Democratic governor from appointing a replacement. If he’s gone by Aug 2 there’s a special election. Otherwise the seat is empty til Jan. Not sure how that benefits anyone though.

Perhaps besides the point, but do we know where these bizarre AI images are coming from? Is he finding them? Are people sending them to him? Is he having Ai create them? Does he know how to tell AI to do things?

I wouldn’t assume that the 38% who said that in a survey actually believe it. Survey research is beset with bots, frauds, and trolls. People who aren’t people, people who aren’t who they say they are, and people who don’t really believe what they say they believe.

This is such a hopeful thing to read on a cold morning. We talk about how helping a neighbor builds community. We talk less about how accepting help also builds community.

I’m only half joking when I say I was educated by hippie nuns. They taught us to believe both in social justice and in the true presence of Jesus in the Eucharist. Waiting for the rest of their students to wake up.

Catholic here. I read it as code for “go wake your congregations the Hell up.” American parishes have a tendency towards complacency.
