Like I post about wrestling and politics wtf do you mean I can’t post to here as well? Though I will say I’d LOVE access to Flashes and until I do, I don’t love BlueSky. That was honestly a reason why I didn’t like this place at first, the exclusivity

I promise I’m going to try to post to here more, but for real this time. I think Threads is, UI wise, better. I think there are perks to BlueSky, but overall as a serious content creator I need to be on both, and there’s no reason not to except laziness on my part tbcfh

Bold Take: AOC/Mark Cuban would win in 2028 as Democrats or Third Party (as long as they could get on all 50 ballots)

The design is great but can someone tell me what Brian Cage has done in the last two years of his career

Holy shit what a simple yet beautiful and effective move. As someone who always gets caught up in pumphandles and double-underhooks and half-Nelson throws, sometimes you just need to bash someone’s head into a pole

The main text is fair. But also there are valid criticisms that go beyond “I want more of this”. My criticisms (the objectively correct ones) often refer to a lack of consistency and/or harmony It’s also on the promoter to keep the three ring circus even, so I don’t think it all comes down to fans

I more so think it’s interesting bc it’s a pretty similar playing field. Both exist where they are openly fake, but with real people and real events. There’s a constant reminder in wrestling, and modern politics, that the line between political theater and reality is very, very blurry.

The pro wrestling is politics metaphor is quite literally so much of who I am and why my content is what it is

There are some great writers who talk about this! Sharon Mazer, specifically, wrote a book about how Donald Trump incorporates kayfabe in politics I’ve written about Trump using rhetoric and audience techniques from wrestling in politics Jesse Ventura’s campaign is a huge example too!

But I do think there is something very, very real even to the mindset of “wrestling in America/wrestling not for NJ” vs. wrestling for NJ in a big NJ PPV
