Please stop resharing this. It's weapons-grade dumb. In a close election, *every* group of voters that breaks 51% towards the winning side gets to claim they were the ones who pushed it over the top to victory. No, overseas voters aren't special in close elections.

A BSky post reading, "Call your overseas American friends and make sure they vote! You know all the shenanigans around mail-in votes? Much of it is to disenfranchise overseas voters who often provide the winning margin in close votes!"

Prosecutors are elected officials. Not filing charges against a multiple child killer is a quick way to lose your next election. Whether she was legally insane is a genuinely hard, politically-fraught question… … exactly the sort of question best handled by the community (the jury), not the DA.

Time for me to retreat from BSky again. I'm tired of seeing people who couldn't pass a high school civics test have absolute certainty about things they don't understand well enough to even be called ignorant about. Can't persuade them, can't educate them, happier without them. Good luck.

A mini-rant about NSF funding: Christmas of 2004 I was a Ph.D student at the University of Iowa researching electronic voting. One of the problems we had to confront was vote tabulation: when everything is stored on a digital media database, how do you keep that data tamper-resistant? 1/
