"Happy 5th birthday, Ibram-Ciaphas Greyfax, here's your first Carnifex."

Yeah, the ships were fine. The actual quibble could be with the small bombs rather than something more Tirpitz-sized, but that's easily covered with a "They just got pulled off a raid."

Moderately high-speed strikes trying to exploit a gap on a body with decent anti-ship firepower but comparably poor lower range?

So, darker days, brighter nights, hotter summers, colder winters? BRB, gonna go crack the moon.

See, that's the secret. Brussels is actually secretly using you to extend the Eurostar connection all the way to Canada. Pay no mind.

Are we talking metaphorically bare-handed, or straight-up going full Ustashe? Because at the absolute minimum, the latter still sounds easier to contain than "Shitstorm that eventually spreads and knocks out one and a half sealanes."

It would be somewhat difficult to deliver a 1940 tank to someone in 1939, yeah.

The techbro job deletion program finally came for the nosy, overly chatty neighbours. The tragedy.

Yeah, it's either that, or folks going directly into the files for the same effect. Though, I'm pretty sure BT itself is intentionally paced to be somewhat plodding, which might be cool the first few times, but not when you're hoovering up half of the Inner Sphere's Assault Mech stockpile.

I'm not exactly sure if there's a cost to it, but cranking up the animations way up was a popular modification even for otherwise vanilla Battletech. Speed the game up, at least until the game decided it needs its Big Think Moment.™ Not sure if that was a game issue, or the 20 gigs of mods, though.

There was a lot of bitching and gnashing od teeth. EA already had the reputation by the time they came for Westwood.

Rivetmuncher @rivetmuncher.bsky.social · 16/09/2026
Quibble: By that time, it was an EA property, with a decent chunk of the old Westwood staff having left.

EA acquired them during Tiberian Sun development. Though, they probably haven't had a hand in it yet. But basically everything since Red Alert 2 went through them.

Not necessarily. With all the shit going on, there's a window for the dems rallying again, and getting the impression that trading minorities for votes works, rather than the incumbent republican platform imploding under the weight of its own garbage.

Reminds me of how the Abrams was glazed as semi-indestructible even well into GWOT. Then other folks started fielding them, and they started to get regularly cracked on camera.

It sounds like a nice round number, but 2 trillion over several decades to prop up an imploded East German economy can easily end up as damage control numbers if half-arsed enough. Especially if it's just pocket money so they can drive to Hanover and buy washing machines.

Guess you could have fun with it and make all rapiers in a setting magical artefacts made by wizards? Yes, I know that means the same wizards can also monopolise the firearms market.
