iiinova — where your digital self keeps evolving

I am having one of those days where both my phone and my skull are too heavy to lift. But! I am lying on a comfy couch in the sun on a chilly day, so I've got a lot going for me.

In today's episode of "i forget how autistic I am until I have to leave my house"... Today my diner grilled cheese was cut in half into rectangles instead of the usual triangles and I literally couldn't eat it until my partner had the idea to cut each rectangle into triangles.

Some people stack pebbles, but I prefer pigeons

A stack of three ascendingly smaller crocheted pigeons balanced on top of each other in a brown couch

The same balanced stack of crocheted pigeons, this time with a very small pigeon that is either precariously balanced on top of the stack or is being dangled there via an attached keychain (I will let you decide which you want to believe).

There are so many things I don't do because I can't, that sometimes I forget "I dont want to" is also still valid. Here is an unrelated sassy finch on my porch railing.

A speckled brown female house finch is perched on a black rail. Her head is leaning to the side in a sassy looking way.

I don't have other social media. I got bluesky cause I'd heard it was pretty chill and I wanted to test the waters and see what it was all about. It was novel and exciting for a bit. Now I often forget I have it. I think my self was designed to be living in a hollow tree somewhere mildly swampy.

It is a long day for the sun, and I wish him well

The sun is just above a varied treeline, in a clear blue sky

Pretty sure a bunch of single-color ceramic birds hanging out together is called a Pride.

A row of ceramic birds, each glazed just one color, sits on a book shelf. They are arranged in rainbow order.

Today was/is my (deceased) mother's birthday. She has been gone a long time now but I still like to acknowledge the day, so here is a picture of her holding an opposum.

An old and weathered photo of a young woman with long dark hair wearing a shirt boldly colored in reds and oranges. She is standing on a path in some sort of park, holding an opposum on her hip almost as if it were a baby.

Baby mockingbird on the porch railing. Somehow both cute and horror show.

A very fluffy grey and white bird is perched on a rail, facing the camera. The background is green foliage.

The same fluffy grey and white bird is perched on a rail with its back to the camera. It is facing to the left so that its head and face are visible. The background is varied green foliage.

After a life time of desperately trying just based on the concept-principle of it all, I finally have to admit that I do not really like fried plantain.

Baby cardinal through dirty glass

A photo of a fluffy, golden-looking baby cardinal sitting on a black rail with a background of out of focus varied green foliage. The entire photo looks foggy or misty.

It is a good day to be a damp chickadee.

"Deep greens and blues are the colors I choose"

A very early morning sky, colored deep blue with lighter cloudy patches. Below the sky is a sillouetted tree line that is such a deep green it appears mostly black.

Mama cardinal on a rainy day

A female cardinal, colored a kind of olive grey with red-orange highlights, is perched on an iron and glass outdoor lamp. The background is washed out light grey sky and damp foliage made hazy by fog.

I am glad when people come together and find connection and community. I am sad when I watch it from the sidelines because I don't feel it. Anyway, here's Wonderwall.

A black lab-pitt mix dog lays on a carpet in front of tall wooden double doors. The doors each have a window of frosted glass through which green grass, trees, and blue sky can be seen.

Today was the first May Day in 33 years that I did not dance up the sun (though in recent years it's been more of a carefully shuffle up the sun). I am glad to see the sun rose anyway.

A photograph of a wide field with trees in the distance. The field is full of small purple flowers and lush green grass. The sky is a bright almost turquoise studded with fluffy white clouds.

Bright spot on a rainy day

My color bottles had good shadows this morning

Six variously shaped glass bottles sit on a low window sill in Roy G Biv order. Their shadows on the hard wood also glow with their colors.

Get up and create change that is accessible for you. If you can’t stop a war, maybe you can at least keep your neighbor from starving.

I have phases where I get really into shadows

Several clear glass bottles woth various food labels sit on a small white shelf. Each bottle has a feather or fake flower in it. The shadow the ensemble casts on a nearby wall has interesting textures and shapes.

More droopy bunch o' flowers from my yard. So tiny. Couldn't even hazard a guess as to what these one are but I love 'em all the same.

Long, narrow bunches of tiny white flowers growing with green leaves on a slim branch. In the background is a variety of green trees and plants.

Wisteria, I think? I'm mostly not good at identifying things but I love the droopy bunches of flowers category of plants. They seem so chill, but still so lovely.
