and also you work better and with a better spirit when you do it because you Want to and not because you Need to. this is basic socialism but it still flies far above some people's heads!!!

010

once people can ditch a job that does not treat them decently without fear for their revenue, bosses have to make the extra efforts to give their employees decent working conditions, which right now they don't need to worry about because as long as people need to pay a rent, they'll accept any shit

110

see that's why we need universal revenue and it's not even just about leaving artists the fuck alone so they can create freely. everyone's peace of mind benefits from not having to worry about going bankrupt at the slightest bump in the road

had to take a "real job" for a full year to put some money in my bank account and it pretty much killed my creativity for the whole year. now happily unemployed and a little less worried about money and you can't take clip studio paint away from me lol

all they could do was hug and be there for each other, and god it destroyed me in ways i didn't know i could be destroyed. anyway if you like epic sea adventures, pirates stories, compelling love stories, do yourself a favor and read the Liveship Traders !!!!!!

CW rape and find love and support among those who took her side entirely, and it took litteraly some of the last pages of the book for her to find the courage to share that with the man she loved, and it was too late for them to have anyone to be angry at and get revenge,

100

CW rape they still couldn't stop loving and following her rapist, and she felt so betrayed, and she fantasized about confronting all of them with his true colors before killing him, but of course she couldn't and was faced with no other choice than to find a way to heal herself for herself,

100

CW rape it took time for a lot of the characters, friends and family, to believe her, because her rapist had built a persona of himself that was glorified and adored, to the point that she even started to doubt her own experience, to the point that even when her family started believing her,

CW rape the last book was especially hard to read because it revolves A LOT around the rape one of the lead characters go through. it was seriously painful to read because it was sadly treated with a lot of realism, all while showing that there was still hope for healing and finding a new happiness

All the characters go through such compelling arcs that again, make them stronger in their own ways. Male characters are rewarded and glorified for showing sensibility, compassion and love, and those who indulge in machismo do not. just refreshing!!!

she tackles such serious and modern matters with grace and intelligence, given the age this series has... ALL female characters in this series are strong in their own personal way, and not the male writer way (= give female characters traits associated with masculinity and call it a day)

robin hobb (margaret ogden) is an incredible writer, reading this series made me remember that reading a book can actually make you feel the entire rainbow of emotions at full capacity and i'm so grateful for this friend that recommanded this series to me
