I wasn't able to find the Nonexistent Knight at the bookstore, but I did pick up this

Under the Jaguar Sun by Italo Calvino, a white cover with red text

Not normally one to comment on celebrity deaths, but Sam Neil's performance is a major part of In the Mouth of Madness, one of my favourite films

Why did you opt for a different one on Metal Archives?

3. Black Cascade An early favourite for sure. The composition skills feel like they've taken a big step up and the quieter, more ambient parts, do a lot of heavy lifting in the sonic contrast. Impressively dynamic sounding for something that takes its time to go anywhere

Wolves in the Throne Room - Black Cascade

2. Two Hunters The sound definitely feels more realised here, an earthy, mossy record with some edges still.

1. Diadem of 12 Stars Strikes me as more interesting than atmospheric black metal normally is (I don't really know where this falls in the development of the subgenre). I like the melodic tendencies a lot and I'm really into the way texture is built

Irreligious is one of my favourite albums (not to ruin your fun but the actual art for the new album is this )

I mean sure the debut is great and I loved the Spiritual Sound, but humanity's greatest achievements feels like a bit much this early in to their career

Screenshot of a tiktok with text saying "Agriculture was one of humanity's greatest achievements."

Luckily one of my skills is knowing the units in a faction where all the sprues look the same. Pretty sure it's these

This but it's writing one riff on my lunch break

Was 18 March 1914 the most extraordinary date in modern literature? On that day, Fernando Antonio Nogueira Pessoa (1888-1935) took a sheet of paper, went to a tall chest of drawers in his room and began to write standing up, as he customarily did. 'I wrote 30-odd poems in a kind of trance whose nature I cannot define. It was the triumphant day of my life, and it would be impossible to experience such a one again.'

Species - Changelings An adventorous technical thrash affair with plenty of jazz influences, experimental without ever being crushed under the weight of it's own weirdness

Paradise Lost - Ascension Ascension indeed, somehow this deep into their career, Paradise Lost have found more darkness to explore, the culmination of all their previous forms brought together in a starkly coherent fashion
