Being a freelancer means things like promotions and shares and "Hey look what I made!" posts are part of a whole job that revolves around the hope that those things will earn the opportunity for work, and more growth, and more chances to make more things.

The way I feel the need to raise money for humanitarian efforts for Puerto Rico and not my projects is so very strong. I want to make cool things and I also want better infrastructure and independence for Puerto Rico.. I'll figure it out. 🖤🖤🖤

Currently just stressed over the water and infrastructure crisis in Puerto Rico while also not having a billion dollars to fix it.

“Resolve” is about the decision to keep going, even when we realize some things are beyond our control. In the moment, sometimes all I want is a star to wish on. So, I made one. ✨️ Enjoy. 🖤

I was informed the organization Project PR Relief is a scam via a post on Threads by author R.C. Luna (go read her stuff, she's amazing) who confirmed their rep. Taller Salud is a the place to support Puerto Rico during the water crises. tallersaludpr.networkforgood.com

It is very important to internalize that one person's efforts or successes isn't an invalidation or crime against someone else's efforts or successes.

I kinda look like a Disney villain with my resting witch face, and honestly, I'm not mad about it. 😂 I made a video of some music I'm working on, and this should be the preview image. ☕😁

The way complete strangers openly support people they don't know versus the people who know someone with goals don't openly support the people they actually know is a phenomenon that needs to be studied.

It costs nothing to be cool to others in the horror industry, in podcasting, anywhere. It isn't an expectation to make friends with everyone, but at the very least, being not-a-jerk to others is a great start.

Horror concept but it's office horror where the longer bosses avoid hard conversations, the more spiders they find in their coffee.

Back in the 1960s my grandparents bought a house in Chicago after moving here from Indiana, living in Puerto Rico before that. The house is in what used to be called the MacReynold's Subdivision; the house was built in 1891, and re-built the same year after a fire. The rabbit hole goes deep.

Stress causes me physical pain, actually, so no - I refuse to express any just to calm others. ☕

110

Rissa Montañez @rissavoices.bsky.social · 16/07/2026

It's always, "Why aren't you freaking out?! You are so calm! It's unsettling, don't you care!? Don't YOU CARE AT ALL?!" and never, "You're kind of an eye of a storm, and I appreciate you doing what's necessary to maintain balance." Stressing over a thing isn't a reliable indicator of care.
