Risotto @risottodrake.bsky.social · 03/10/2026Yes, I usually take the pics anamorphically (to avoid reflections) and adjust the angles in edit. 010
Risotto @risottodrake.bsky.social · 03/10/2026The actual cover is a nude drawn by Patti Smith. You can adjust the settings so that message doesn't appear. 110
Risotto @risottodrake.bsky.social · 03/10/2026Not sure, maybe the way the camera is set, or the lighting. I sometimes have trouble keeping the phone still, so it's not always ideal. 110

Risotto @risottodrake.bsky.social · 03/10/202632 years ago. I don't have a DAT player, so can't play it. But 'Snoppy Jeeks' and 'Cthonic Leviatron' were the obvious singles... 000
Risotto @risottodrake.bsky.social · 03/10/2026Anyone fancy releasing it, in these troubled times? 100
Risotto @risottodrake.bsky.social · 03/10/2026Here's the DAT master, engineered by Guy Hatton, who did the Utah Saints thing, with more success. 110
Risotto @risottodrake.bsky.social · 03/10/2026What went wrong was GPR were fucked by Pinnacle and went bust. So Ectoginal was never released. 110
Risotto @risottodrake.bsky.social · 03/10/2026The plan was to release it on the GPR spin off 'weird' label 'Input Neuron Musique'. The contract was terrific, 50 -50 mechanical royalties, 70 - 30 publishing royalties (in our favour). What could go wrong? 110
Risotto @risottodrake.bsky.social · 03/10/2026Anyway, he said send a tape, we did - the band was called You're Nasal Multiplex - and he rang me offering a CONTRACT. We signed (obvs) and they sent us money, which we spent some of recording our debut album "Ectoginal". 110
Risotto @risottodrake.bsky.social · 03/10/2026While things were being sorted, this excited guy (Wayne) approached and handed me a cig packet with his contact details. I didn't really undrestand what was happening. But I rang him fro. Work on the Monday morning. 110
Risotto @risottodrake.bsky.social · 03/10/2026We had a spin-off electro-techno-wtf band that played chillout rooms at raves in the Leeds-Bradford conurbation, and one night at the 1 in 12 Club, in a room with 19 tellys & 12 projectors, WE blew the fuses! 110
Risotto @risottodrake.bsky.social · 03/10/2026#NowPlaying Temple Of Transparent Balls by The Black Dog. This CD was sent to me freebie in 1994 by Wayne Archbold, the boss of General Production Recordings. He sent quite a lot of CDs and LPs, kindly, after something extraordinsry happened... 360

Risotto @risottodrake.bsky.social · 02/10/2026When the Beeb first showed Yellow Sub in the mid 70s, that was the song that grabbed me. 000
Risotto @risottodrake.bsky.social · 02/10/2026How did they miss out on that fantastic Macca Bassline? Perplexing. 120
Risotto @risottodrake.bsky.social · 02/10/2026Someone recommended a USB thing to me yonks ago, and I didn't. I'm a lost cause! 010
Risotto @risottodrake.bsky.social · 02/10/2026I once knocked an empty bottle of Kulminator Urtyp Hell on to my copy, which scratched it. My CD is divided into 4 side-long tracks, which is not right! 210
Risotto @risottodrake.bsky.social · 02/10/2026Yes, same line up but... (I don't know wot comes after 'but'...). Anyway, their best moment is 'Little Tornadoes' off Tanz der Lemminge, the greatest riff of all time! 110
Risotto @risottodrake.bsky.social · 02/10/2026Wolf City runs it close, but I love that this establishes the sound so thuggishly. And the end bit of the title track is perfect. 110
Risotto @risottodrake.bsky.social · 02/10/2026#NowPlaying Phallus Dei, the first and best album by Amon Düül II. This cover art isn't as good as the Sunset reissue, but the music is so Gothic! 2130
Risotto @risottodrake.bsky.social · 02/10/2026Yeah, it was definitely a thinner mix, but then he did have to cram 36 minutes on! 010

Risotto @risottodrake.bsky.social · 02/10/2026The Grauniad's review of the 2000 Shepherd's Bush gig described his playing the Warr Touch Guitar 'like an octopus tormented by fleas'. Always liked that. 120

Risotto @risottodrake.bsky.social · 02/10/2026I'm glad I got this on CD at last, as it meant I finally got to listen to side 2 without it jumping. 120
Risotto @risottodrake.bsky.social · 02/10/2026This was the first thing by Rooster I heard, it was of its time. A couple of years later I heard In Hearing Of and realised there was a lot more to them... 010
Risotto @risottodrake.bsky.social · 02/10/2026This is already a perfect-sounding album. Can it be improved? 231
Risotto @risottodrake.bsky.social · 02/10/2026Still can't believe they broke a telly ON STAGE. Madheads. 010

Risotto @risottodrake.bsky.social · 01/10/2026#NowPlaying Peradam by Soundwalk Collective with Patti Smith, featuring Anoushka Shankar, Tenzin Choegyal and Charlotte Gainsbourg. Inspired by a 1940s novel by René Daumal 'Mount Analogue: A Novel of Symbolically Authentic Non-Euclidean Adventures in Mountain Climbing'. Interesting. 110
