Calling ppl 'bad' is too much simplification. There are so many reasons for ppl to get sucked into extreme ideas & the behaviours that grow from them. Ppl aren't just born bad or good. I don't blame religion for those groups that use it for perverse behaviour.

Yeees...but... I don't actually believe there is really such a thing as 'commonsense'. I'll accept 'good sense', where 'good' means rational, logical, well-considered...& harmless. When ppl say 'commonsense', I immediately reply -internally or out loud- 'common to whom?'

Why stop there? Let's look at Yemen, Afghanistan, Sudan, Syria, Somalia, Nigeria, Mali, Burkina Faso, Niger, & Iran. All these jihadist groups are fighting not for freedom, but for its opposite. It'shorrifying that someone who thinks they value freedom & democracy would promote these groups.

I don't agree that Israel is engaged in genocide at all. I do back quite a lot of pro-military nations, including my own, & the UK, US, European countries & others, but not for their military stance, but for what they seek to protect: freedom & democracy.

Here's hoping Palestine will be freed of Hamas, & the world freed of all extremist Islamist groups currently terrorising it. It will be a big step towards world peace & freedom, though I believe violence is inherent in human nature, so Nirvana may be out of reach:-(

I'm happy for the PM to speak for Australia in memoriam of October 7, & my sympathies are entirely with Israel on that terrible day. When Palestine is freed from Hamas, it will begin on the road to full freedom & peace. When the world is freed from Islamic extremists, we'll all have peace.

I guess they have to get home from work somehow, & schedules can't always match flying hours. Amazing how often off-duty doctors, nurses, emergency workers etc are at hand when needed, without any commentary other than 'that was lucky!'
