Bro I have never been THIS CLOSE to getting 100% in Metroid Prime 1. If I missed any scans along the game and I'm stuck at 99%, I am going to combust.

Some theaters are doing a rerun of the remastered Ninja Scroll, so of course Brandon and I had to experience it for the first time this way. Peak. Beautiful. Fun as hell. Do not watch if you're squeamish.

Okay I really need to stop overspending on snacks at movie theaters, but I love my zero soda and butter popcorn 🙃

The most I've noticed is that videos encoded under AV1 take a lot longer to process than MPEG-4. It's really annoying because I just switched over to AV1.

It seemed most likely to be I-nodes being filled up, but Terminal said it was only 1% used up. One reboot and a sudden update to a bunch of apps later, everything ran fine. I don't know what happened, but I'm not complaining.

The more time goes by, the more the Let's Play for J-Stars is gonna be insane We're watching Yuyu Hakusho, just dipped our toes into Gintama, Bleach is on a generational run, and Brandon and I rarely get to talk about DBZ or Naruto on recordings anymore.

000

JerichoX01 @risingjericho.bsky.social · 05/10/2026

This past weekend, I got to experience my first thing involving Gintama ever with Brandon. Absolute ride that I'm amazed they put so much animation into for what I assumed was *just* a gag anime. Absolute roller coaster that still got more than a few laughs out of me. Yeah I should watch the show

It HAS been great, but it's been a slow decline using 3rd party software. Couple of months ago I couldn't get the newest security install, then VLC stops booting sometimes, and now all this? My workflow might be a little too involved for this.

100

JerichoX01 @risingjericho.bsky.social · 02/10/2026

So first Handbrake is failing to encode footage, and now VLC isn't able to open/install? And the latter is a known issue on Linux? ...alright I think I'm done with Linux on my home computer :)

You know, I've been considering making a Discord burner account to interact with other creators and keep in touch with some friends, but after this? Jesus Christ. I knew Discord was gonna get back on this; they said as much earlier, but now they're saying they actively spy on you (inaccurately).

Really funny how Taylor's first run of Fortune's Weave is with Dietrich and Brandon's on Lida. I guess it's on me to start with Theodora. Oh noooooo, what a sad fate that has befallen me :)

I don't care what anyone says, the XMB for PS3/PSP was perfect. Custom themes, sorted nicely, charming default sounds and atmosphere. And then PS4 dropped it (:

I agree with SungWon insofar as looking up an anime on MAL only to be met with its full sentence-length name, where 99% of the time the fans just use a condensed name. e.g. Oregairu's full name Yahari Ore no Seishun Love Comedy wa Machigatteiru.

Found this really cute, small movie theater super north in Seattle. Definitely gonna be back here with friends to catch up on some films :) Also watch Forgotten Island, it was like 5 times better than expected

Okay this might be something only I really appreciate, but the frozen dead Grievers when you approach them have jumbled radio static being emitted. Is Samus detecting dead thoughts? Is she going crazy from them being Lamorn? I don't know, but it's freaky and I love audio details like that!

010

JerichoX01 @risingjericho.bsky.social · 28/09/2026

Okay I need to explore Sol Valley more, but On the one hand, aesthetically, it's breathtaking. More than a few Dune vibes with this. But... there's so little to do here early game that I wonder what the point is? Lots of things you can't interact with until you get power-ups later.

010

JerichoX01 @risingjericho.bsky.social · 28/09/2026

Level 3, Ice Belt Putting aside how slow the level can be, there's such a good integration of storytelling and atmosphere here. Retro Studios DEFINITELY know about the movie The Thing, because that influence is everywhere here! Might be an even better ice/snow level than Phendrana Drifts in 1!

Man... maybe we were better off with that obnoxious prior translation patch that redoes the menus too. At least that was done by a human.

010

JerichoX01 @risingjericho.bsky.social · 27/09/2026

The motorycle... its controls... this test track... Its the best part of the game, no question. Please god, Retro, don't let this be a dropped ball. This whole mechanic could be a game by itself.

If you play the Mata Nui Online Game and go to the rocks on top of the cliff to the left, this cutscene plays. Brief minimalist story setup for how everything goes. Cutscene, yes, but this was BEAUTIFUL for a browser game in 2001. youtu.be/-A-NivINvLM
