Rise Up Review is a platform for the language of opposition. --*addressing injustice & oppression
*lyrical & intimate
*avoiding the didactic
We learn about human evils and frailties, human love & strength from our stories. Poetry is a hammer is a flame is a flag of dissent is an olive branch. We proffer it to you.

Poem by Juan Pablo Mobili
An Overdue Lament

                      a whisper loves a canal
                                             —Alan Fesenthal

You deserved
the wild blessing of
a wave a howl

even a thorn
rather than the hand
that first covered your mouth.

I think now
of that secret
homeless in your throat,

wishing for a canal,

wishing
someone
listened.
