The Mets have decided to win again and Mrs. Met is being inducted into the Mascot Hall of Fame (I was today years old when I learned that was a thing). The gods are smiling upon us at last! #MetsSky

And as you can see, here in Central NY, our AA Binghamton Rumble Ponies are taking their cues from the Big League club:

I cannot adequately express how much I hate this day for this very reason. Most people have Dunning-Kruger Syndrome when it comes to their ability to pull off a joke that is actually funny. (I know we’re supposed to grade on a massive curve today, but … )

If he’s not using a laptop privacy screen while on public transportation he’s basically asking for his grammatically expert seatmate’s editorial assistance IMO. ;-)

In happier news, our Syracuse Mets notched a big win today against the 1st place Scranton/Wilkes Barre team (yes, S/WB is the Yankees’ AAA team)

In case you were wondering how all of this was going over with the Phillies fans:

I understand the point you are making (and your frustration, which I share), but Sandy and his lifetime 2.77 ERA says, “I think the F not!”

Our AA Binghamton Rumble Ponies still in first place. Gotta take our comfort where we can find it, #Mets fans!

Oh, my fellow #Mets fans, this isn’t even close to The Worst. I, for one, remember the Inglorious Days of the 1993 Season, when we went 59-103 and finished … 38 games out of first place. Good times.

I’m hoping our Syracuse Met has a good debut!

If it’s Hope you are seeking, allow me to present … the Syracuse Mets:

My fellow #Mets fans, I know we are saddened by the compete implosion of our team and our hopes for them. But on a much brighter note, I bring you glad tidings from Central NY, where our AAA #syracusemets team is tied for the division lead. Hope Springs Eternal! #MetsSky

I actually cried tears of joy over this. I wish Bridget had been nominated, too, but I’m thrilled she got a nom for writing. That show is Everything.

Did I weep actual tears over Jeff Hiller’s Emmy nomination? YES. Yes, I did. I love this so much for him, and for the show.

That novel is indirectly responsible for my marriage. I was wearing a Virginia Woolf sweatshirt when I met my future husband. Him: “Woolf fan?” Me: “TTL! Top 5 all-time!” Him: “Why?” “Because x, y, z”. Who knew he was a PhD English student? 37 happy years later: here we are! Thanks, Virginia!
