🌺🦋 A Journey of a Thousand Miles - Day 6: ETERNAL LOVE 🦋🌺 A glimpse of the selflessness in Sesshōmaru's heart encourages Rin to love him more than she thought possible - for a moment, until eternity. 🔗 tinyurl.com/ajoatm-ch6 #sessrin #RinWeek2024 #MeloncitaWeek2024 #りん #殺りん #AJOATM #ficpromo

A titlecard for the sixth and final chapter of A Journey of a Thousand Miles. The background is of a summery blue sky filled with fluffy, scattered clouds. A shooting star swoops down from the heavens right beneath the title "A Journey of a Thousand Miles"

The snippet image for the final chapter of A Journey of a Thousand Miles, titled "eternal love".

The snippet reads:

When asked, the Lady Mother professed that the flowers was from someone she hadn't seen in ages and Rin believed it to be a gift from her late husband. Yet, in the face of Sesshōmaru's affections, Rin stood to wonder if that was the case at all. Had he always been withdrawn with showing his affections or was it an effect of living for centuries on the path of supreme conquest, as Jaken put it?

Rin imagined a small boy dressed in white, presenting a bouquet of hastily dug up flowers to his regal mother. Would he be touched to know centuries after he departed from her side that she still kept them with loving care?

Rin didn't know, stepping forward to take her lord's hand in her own. "Anything Sesshōmaru-sama gives this Rin will be cherished," she says, stroking her fingertips over the back of her lord's hand. She looks up with a smile, "For a moment until eternity."

“There won’t be anyone else like Rin. She is special.” Disarmingly honest and pure, generously loving and sweet, and unerringly trusting and loyal to those she held dear. That was why no one else but Rin could become Sesshoumaru’s bride. She was the one and only. #RinWeek2024

🌺🦋 A Journey of a Thousand Miles - Day 5: DEMON'S BRIDE 🦋🌺 If this was what their married life was to be like, Rin didn't mind becoming a demon's bride. 🔗 tinyurl.com/ajoatm-ch5 #sessrin #RinWeek2024 #MeloncitaWeek2024 #りん #殺りん #AJOATM #ficpromo

The title card for the fifth chapter of A Journey of a Thousand Miles. The title glows over the background of a dark blue wave pattern adorned with golden flowers. Behind it is an image of an afternoon sky over a green forest. The sky is tinged in shades of orange and blue with puffy clouds drifting overhead.

The chapter snippet for the fifth chapter of A Journey of a Thousand Miles with the title "demon's bride".

Underneath is the snippet: Rin tweaked her nose a little, her bottom lip jutting out in a little pout. "What amuses you, milord?" She asks, hefting her naginata as she followed him across the clearing.

"It is nothing," Sesshōmaru replies, and Rin squinted at the side of his face until he glanced askance at her with the warming glow of a heart's passion. "You did well, Rin."

She swallowed hard, turning her face away to avoid gawking at him. Though she knew his standards were seldom impossible to meet, to have earned praise from her lord was strangely appealing. His compliments were hard-won and while it was far from her goal to obtain them, there was something nice about it.

🌺🦋 A Journey of a Thousand Miles - Day 4: SMITTEN 🦋🌺 A much needed talk is had, and Rin finally is able to say what she feels. Then, everything continues as it was... somewhat. 🔗 tinyurl.com/ajoatm-ch4 #sessrin #RinWeek2024 #MeloncitaWeek2024 #りん #殺りん #AJOATM #ficpromo

A title card for the fourth chapter of A Journey of a Thousand Miles, with a pink and white sky and a campfire background.

A snippet of the chapter "smitten" for A Journey of a Thousand Miles, with the following snippet underneath:

The argument rings hollow with how at ease he stands, observing her then the tip of her blade with interest. At last, he releases it and side-steps the blade to tuck the wisteria flower behind her ear. "Rin would never," he says with such resolution that she nearly smiles. "Sparring with a moving target would benefit Rin's training far more. An enemy will never stand still as a tree, unless Rin intends to fight nature itself."

Rin scoffs, "Are you offering to help me or here to tease me, my lord?"

He smirks, an expression Rin was becoming increasingly aware only existed when her lord was in a playful mood. His hair sliding over his shoulder as he tips his head and asks, "Which would Rin prefer?"

She tamps the end of her naginata against the ground. In answer, Sesshōmaru pulls back, drawing Tenseiga smoothly from its sheath.

🌺🦋 A Journey of a Thousand Miles - Day 3: VILLAGE LIFE 🦋🌺 After an encounter with a catfish yōkai, Rin remembers things forgot to express and others she forgot were bothersome. 🔗 tinyurl.com/ajoatm-ch3 #sessrin #RinWeek2024 #MeloncitaWeek2024 #りん #殺りん #AJOATM #ficpromo

The title card for A Journey of a Thousand Miles' third chapter, with the image of a deep forest and a mountain in the background as well as a red torii gate.

A snippet for the third chapter of A Journey of a Thousand Miles, with the title of "village life" over a white box with the faded image of a lily. The snippet reads:

"Foolish," Sesshōmaru admonishes, and Rin's eyes narrow slightly. "Those who wield a blade must be prepared to succumb to one. To think distance would beget safety is nonsense."

Her brow arches as she harrumphs, pulling away from him, "So my lord says, but is that not why he sent me to live with humans? Years without sight nor sound, presence only through ink and mulberry, surely my lord believes distance would bring about something of merit.”

Rin turns her face away when she catches sight of the opening between the trees, relieved to find their camp untouched as her lord steps into the clearing. She pushes her legs down against his arms in a cue to be released to her feet's burden, but his hold tightens and her breath hitches when she looks up to find him staring pointedly at her face.

"Does Rin hold a grievance against this lord she wishes to speak of?"

Underneath is the word count, rating and author's name: 1k, g-rated, and unlockthelore.
