My favorite aspect is the found family & Yohan. He’s such a cutiepie, love how he’s allowed to be a cryer but still gets things done. As for criticism, the story has 2 parts, and I think they should have cut the length of P.2 & give it to P.1. Writing’s also convenient at times.

Finished the Follow The Sheep Into The Abyss novel & really enjoyed it. I recommend it for fans of THGLL wanting a series that focus more on the horrors of surviving inside a crack. Perfect for spooky season, and not too scary. I get the hype, I find the writing really compelling

My personal recession indicator is how we don’t get full size merch anymore. I buy a lot of special editions bundled w/merch, and 2026 especially I noticed everything’s become tiny, yet prices’re only getting higher. Everything’s a mini: standees, keychains, postcards, etc.

I do think a huge reason why a lot of people have negative experience with BL manhwa is because so many accounts don’t even try to review anymore, they just post a variation of how the sex or the uke/seme’s so tea then call it a day.

It’s not hard finding a good fantasy/action/historical/SoL BL at all, and the highs are really high. For example I don’t find any difference between non-BL hunter stories & BL hunter stories, in fact the BL ones I’ve read I’ve enjoyed more.

While I don’t believe in only reading BL, I’ve never felt any shame or that my taste’s “cheap” because I mostly read BL. People can laugh at my reading preferences all they want but if anything, I feel like I can find a BL equivalent for most genres, and a good one at that.

I have no hope for the future of reading things online, whether legally or illegally. Every site’s taken down, everybody’s using AI to do the work, yet they expect you to pay money it’s ridiculous. And prices are so high it’s legit cheaper for me to buy it physically WITH goods.

Sure Oda’s art is detailed, but I think there aren’t enough details that stand out so everything blends together. Kaoru Mori’s art is also super busy but you can actually appreciate the details. I think it’s the lack of contrasting colors, his art needs more black.

For pages that are that busy, there needs to be more of a focal point that connects the panels together so your brain registers the direction of the panels. Otherwise the panels just look disjointed.

One Piece panelling is a prime example why I prefer simpler art in my manga & proof that artstyle is not everything. The double spreads are too busy, too much text, panels are too small, and composition’s lacking. Even before actually reading the pages, 1st impression’s already unpleasant.

I never see Minako Narita mentioned as one of the greats in animanga fashion conversations & it’s such a shame. She’s such a great inspo for 80s & 90s fashion. I was looking through her artbook I just received & it’s fantastic, her composition’s reminiscence of fashion magazines.

In an ironic twist of fate, the series I read not expecting to like ended up being my favorite BL I’ve read in 2026. Read all 5 volumes of Pittosporum & it was so good. Length really does matter because their romance actually had time to simmer & make you dwell on it.
